Revert to the expected

When the season began we expected marginal starting pitching, trouble out of the pen, lots of yard shots and tons of strike outs. We lost the first 9 with very good starting pitching, good work out of the bull pen, huge number of strikeouts and zero power. The last 5 games we've had just what we thought. Marginal starting pitching, relieving to cry over, power and K's from the offensive side.

Surprises? Some, most notably, Mauer hitting like the Joe of old, Nunez hitting insane and Park and Arcia going deep more than hoped.

Other things of note, Sano and Rosario just barely being productive but now showing signs of coming around. Buxton unable to hit a lick and Dosier taking up where he left off (in the crapper). It will be interesting to see how long this holds and how quickly Mgmt starts to make changes.

If, when you say "Mgmt" you're talking about Terry Ryan, the answer would be, sometime after the All Star break.  Molitor is already making changes in the lineups, almost on a daily basis.

I think a little more patience is needed.

I don't think people expect marginal pitching. The Twins have middle of the road starters and plenty of them which should be a plus at the back end of the rotation.

I agree, for Ryan it won't be until mid year, barring an injury. Molitor is really limited to what he can do. When Santana returns on Monday, and with Plouffe out, he has few impactful options. Deciding between Santana and Nunez at third will not a WS appearance make. Despite last nights travails, I like Arcia, I still think he will hit and needless to say struggle with the glove. But with this PTC fly ball staff, there just is no consistent playing time available for him. You cannot have two guys in the OF like him and Sano. This roster reminds me of the guy who had 2 chickens and a duck in his garage. He wanted a pair of each, but he went out bought another chicken. Amazingly he was surprised that the chicken and the duck didn't get along! Frankly he should have thought of that before he bought another chicken!
