Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Rochester Democrat & Chronicle's Red Wings beat writer Kevin Oklobzija penned a nice article on outfielder David Murphy. Last week, the Twins signed the veteran outfielder to a minor league contract. He reportedly has a May 1 opt-out. He got 2 hits in his first game, then went 0-14 while trying to shake the rust off from not playing for a few weeks. On Tuesday night, he hit his first Red Wings homer. Some good quotes on the process that Murphy is going through right now to prepare to be called up with the Twins. http://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/sports/baseball/2016/04/19/wings-murphy-getting-into-swing-things-twins/83188710/

nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 I'm just glad that Arcia seems to be doing his best to make this decision difficult. Buxton still isn't hitting, but I'm encouraged that he has toned down the strikeouts, only four in his past 19 PA. Small sample size I know, but after watching the Baltimore and KC series', it really didn't look like sample size was going to make any difference with his strikeout issue. If he's figured that out a bit, I think the hits are right around the corner. You can say the same about Rosario, as far as the strikeouts go. I don't think this is the time to mess with the young guys.
