Interesting tidbit on Morneau's splits

I was perusing baseball stats this morning and came across this oddity:

Justin Morneau has this slash line against lefties:
.137

.170

.221

.391
No big surprise there, right?

But here is his slash line against left-handed starters:
.203

.268

.351

.620
Still bad but not nearly as "oh my god, he's clueless" as his overall slash line.

The odd thing is that he has 82 PAs against left-handed starters but only 100 PAs against lefties in general.

Basically, Morneau is completely hopeless against left-handed specialists late in the game, going a mighty 2-19 against them with two walks and a double.

Yikes. SSS and all but I found the data to be interesting.
