Dumb baseball trivia

Nothing else to do.  I didn't know the answer to this but I guessed right.

Nolan Ryan pitched for 27 seasons.  He's the all time leader in strike outs and he's #5 all-time in IP (and three of the guys ahead of him pitched in the deadball era).  So, here's the question.  Did Ryan have more 200 strike out seasons or more 200 ip seasons?

The question is kinda phrased in a way that you would have to guess IP if you didn't know. So that's my guess.

I'm wondering who's #4 in IP?

Is it considered cheating to look at just his career K/9 rate before answering? :)

Yeah when you think about it the question is basically, is NR's career k/9 greater than or less than 9?

I think most people would guess less.

Phil Neikro threw 18 more innings than Ryan for #4.  5404 to  5386.

And the answer was strike outs - 15 seasons of 200+ Ks v 14 of 200+ip.  At 44, Ryan had an amazing season - he "only" threw 173ip but struck out 203 for his only non-200ip, 200 strike out year.
