greengoblinrulz Provisional Member Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Nick Blackburn 8 shutout innings so far in game 1 of a DH. 9hits allowed 2k 0bb 99 pitches. Not my wish, but he will be back up SOON after the break.....Gardy's wish, probably after Frankie is dealt.

And break up that murderer's row of SP dominance in Rochester? 3 straight days of shutout ball by Walters, Hendriks (yesterday) , and now Blackburn (looks like it went "extra innings" in a DHer game, so complete game, 8 inninng shutout with Valencia getting the walk-off hit) . The Red Wings fans never had it so good with 3, count em, 3 AAAA SPs on their roster. Add Pavano in a couple more days and the International League title is ours. /sarc
greengoblinrulz Provisional Member Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 wouldnt put Hendricks into AAAA yet. Personally, I take that term to mean a 25 yrs old or higher. Liam still is only 23 as he rose fast. Dont forget Luke French (9wins in 25MLB starts) with Jeff Manship (parts of 4 seasons in majors) in rotation there. Prospects galore.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Thanks for the headsup. jkTrying to be careful, lately some of my posts are being questioned when I mistakenly thought I was obviously being sarcastic.

Good point about Hendriks, although at least for now, at least mentally he's reached his ceiling.

glunn Community Moderator Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Good point about Hendriks, although at least for now, at least mentally he's reached his ceiling. It seems to me that Hendriks lacks an "out" pitch that will be effective against MLB batters. Hopefully he can use his time in Rochester to improve on or more of his pitches.

A large amount of Batters will display a lot less discipline at the plate.
