I view them as both non hitting (but a bit below average for SS) and average to above average defensively potentially.

The differing factor to me is Santana's speed, at least when he gets on base he can turn his singles into doubles from time to time with an SB.

all that is to say, I have a gut feeling that Santana ends up a better overall SS

I think Escobar is considerably better on defense.  Santana doesn't look good out there to me.

I don't get Nick Burdi. He has to be a disappointment to the organization thus far. I expected the guy to fly through the system but he has really struggled in Chattanooga.

I'm not sure it is "realistic" to expect them to finish 10 games over....which is what playing .500 would do. It isn't ridiculous, but I'm not sure it is realistic. How many teams finish 10 games over in any season?

Burdi got off to a slow start, but he has definitely gotten better, and he started off slow last year, and improved, so I'm not worried.
