Tell me about. That's what Brock was saying ... getting the users to use these tools. I deal with classically trained musicians ... a different kind of performance professional. And people wonder why we don't just switch to digital music stands. Not to mention logistics and expense, but user proficiency is really one the biggest deterrents. It'll change over gradually, when technology like this is used in the universities and conservatories and eventually work their way up to the professional concert stage.

Just bumping this topic up because I had my first chance this weekend to sit in the Kernels pressbox beside one of the guys who are administering the TrackMan set up for the Twins. Pretty impressive system (at least to a neophyte like me).

Not late. We have used video for about 7 years now. We have just formalized the process like Seth mentioned over the past 3 or 4 years. There are teams that have cut their minor league video programs and teams that only use it at their two highest levels. What advanced stats do you think are valuable in the Midwest League?

 

Thanks for the clarification, Jack. I find it hard to believe that teams would cut video programs. I am not sure I have enough information to understand how that could be a good idea.....

Thanks for posting this.  Obviously the Twins are on the leading edge of collecting this data -- at least through this program (there may be others of which I'm not aware).

 

Now the question at all levels is how the info is being used.
