edX + Stan Lee = awesomeness?

Stan Lee is apparently teaming up with the Smithsonian to present an edX course on the rise of the superhero and comic book history.  I am not even a comic book fanboy, and this one caught my attention:

Also, for those who missed the SABR101x class on sabremetrics last year, they will be offering the course again in early July.

As a kid in the prime of comic book collecting age when it really got huge (late 80s-mid 90s) it will never cease to amaze me how common these characters are now in the public eye.  

 

It is almost certainly not all a good thing, but I'm dumbfounded that by the end of summer in 2016 we'll have seen a second avengers movie, Ant-man, the Suicide Squad, and friggin Deadpoll all with major movie releases.

 

Unbelievable.
