bwille Provisional Member Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 http://twinsdaily.com/blog/501/entry-6264-the-intriguing-case-for-rick-porcello/ What are your thoughts? Is Porcello an example of a type of pitcher that is attainable and would be a good fit for the Twins?
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Good write up, but I'm not trading Plouffe and Pinto for one year of Porcello. The Twins aren't competing this year and Porcello is decent but not good enough to make a difference. I also have difficulty watching games with pitchers who's strikeout numbers rival Carl Pavano.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 David Price has also been mentioned in rumors. I don't understand why teams always shy away from intra league and especially, intra divisional trades. I love the idea of an intradivisional trade. The Twins should be able to out-evaluate their own prospects and get the Tigers to bite on one or more of the top 10 prospect who they don't believe in. Certainly the statistics say there will be more than a few of them. That would directly alter the balance of power in the Twins favor.
