Per this article from Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press, Doug Mientkiewicz had his second interview last week.

Berardino called Mientkiewicz tonight and asked a bunch of great questions and got great response:

“Nothing beats watching the kids grow underneath your eyes,” Mientkiewicz said. “I know Twins fans are pretty used to hearing ‘patience’ and all that other stuff, but better days are soon to come for sure. With the guys we have in our system right now, it’s going to create some urgency, and urgency is a good thing. We’re moving in the right direction.”

Anyone else think/wonder if the second interviews with Molitor and Mientkiewicz also include conversations about working together on the staff regardless who is manager and who is coach?

Paul Molitor had his second full-length meeting with Twins general manager Terry Ryan on Tuesday regarding the team’s open manager position, and the hall of famer apparently came away encouraged by the discussion.

“I think it went fine,” Molitor told the Pioneer Press in a text message.

Berardino does a great job and this is his offseason, but I ask tongue in cheek:

So Molitor's interviews with Ryan are by text?

Molitor came away encouraged, from where? The Freehouse brewery? The hotel pool?

Does Meintkiewicz interview by text? Has he flown to the Twin Cities?

Is Glynn suddenly out of the running because he coaches in Venezuela this time of year?

Who is the hiring committee? Who gets the final call?

How is Gardy doing?

I understand that all the key players want to keep it close to the vest. It still wouldn't hurt to know a little more than the stuff we can already guess about. :)
