Interesting move, shows the A's are all in for 2014.

Good move by the A's.  They only had Cespedes under contract for one more season and it looks like this year is as good as any for the A's to take home the trophy.

 

While Cespedes is a nice player and has some fun HR derby power, he never was much of a fit in Oakland with his low BB/OBP numbers.  For all his accolades he only has a .767 OPS this year, a little better than his .737 last year.  He seems to have a better reputation than he deserves.
