I'm a little confused. How will I know if I have CONFIRMED that I have a player? I've never done the adopt-a-prospect, so I'm not sure how it all works. Do I just comment with a player name, and then first comment with that name wins?

Yes, you just put the name of the player you would like to adopt. It's first come, first serve, so make sure no one ahead of you picked that player. Once in awhile, I'll do a quick update on who has which players.
