Culpepper was hurt and just came back and hasn’t played in the field since coming back. Jenkins I do think is close.

If this is September 1, and both of them are playing well and not hurt and also haven’t been promoted then I can see your point maybe. But at the same time, no one knows for sure what the next cba will include. So trying to manipulate time when we don’t know how time will be counted doesn’t make sense to me 

The irrational jabs against the Pohlads are pointless and off base. There were mistakes made, mostly comments that were poorly framed and ill-timed. The collapse of the regional networks hurt small and medium market clubs. I'm not sure how the loss of $30-50 million in revenue can be ignored. The player acquisition decisions are like 99.9% on the front office. The manager and coaching staff do not pick the team. They do communicate their thoughts.

Neither of Jenkins nor Culpepper are ready right now for regular playing time. It does seem possible that they are called up in August dependent on their play and the needs of the MLB club. If anything, Tom Pohlad is probably wondering about them too. He isn't likely to push forward comments and sound like a fool. The Twins are being managed and run differently this year. Perhaps not to the level many would desire but there has been change. 

I doubt the Pohlads are holding anyone back.  There is money to be made in the Playoffs if they can get in and the excitement.  not to mention the increase in attendance if the Twins are in the race and close, especially if they are slightly ahead soon.  

Tom desperately wants to make the playoffs even if it’s the last spot in a weak AL. Now they are pinching Pennie’s along the way as a small market team should do. They aren’t throwing away assets or years. Both Culpepper and Jenkins in a full season could be potential rookie of the years which has value. Zoll stated they were willing to bring rookies up, now the question is who? Is it Culpepper and Jenkins- or Rodriguez and Mendez?

There is truth to this statement.  The small and medium market clubs got PUNISHED by the regional tv and streaming deal collapses.  That's part of the reason I think there is a push for a cap and floor.  This level of spending (right now) is probably the ceiling the Twins are willing to spend unless something changes.  Which again is why I'm not certain why they hung onto Ryan Jeffers and Joe Ryan.  Neither is going to be resigned.  They should have gone for the prospects now and let the chips fall where they may after the 2027 labor strike and whatever deal comes out of that so this team can rebuild.  To me this trading for these relievers while noble is just a band aid fix and I honestly don't think it's going to be enough to get this team into the playoffs.  The offense is flat, and the Joe Ryan looks totally gassed.

Can't fault them for taking a shot.  Had they blown it up nobody would have been happy either.

I would add to this that Jenkins doesn’t need to be added to the 40 man roster until next December. Adding him this year reduces flexibility for the off-season. The Twins have 5 pitchers on the 60 day IL.

You are correct. If Walker Jenkins has not been added to the 40 well before that time, the Twins have a major problem. 

A quick look at the current 40 roster shows six (6) players on the 60 day IL. Even after adding back those players, the Twins should not have any problem getting down to 34 or less players should they wish to make those calls. Right now, the Twins can IL Kyler Fedko for 60 days to open a spot on the 40 roster. Spots on the Twins roster are not exactly dear at this point in time.
