Trade Deadline Discussions: PLEASE READ

Passions, emotions, frustrations, whatever … will be running high throughout the day, throughout the weekend, and maybe throughout the end of the season, depending on what is/isn’t done or does/doesn't happen. Whatever your feelings and opinions are, please, express them, as that’s what we’re here for and why TD exists. How you may choose to express them, however, is a different matter. We hope that no matter how angry or jubilant we get, no matter what we like/don't like, that the discourse still remains respectful and civil. What this means:

-Don’t make things personal. Rebut the post without making generalized assumptions as to whom you think the other poster is, i.e. no mind reading, no assumptions as to character of other posters, no assumptions as to knowledge of baseball, no assumptions as to level of fandom. If you are unsure about a post directed at you as to the other poster’s intent, ask, don’t assume.

-Don’t label groups of posters into categories and stay away from the name-calling and nicknames meant to chide, i.e. ‘Pohlad Pocket Protectors’, ‘Negative Nellies’, ‘drank the Kool Aid’, etc.

-stay away from the ‘Pohlads are cheap’ type comments … like or dislike them, keep it on track

- and stay away from the 'See, I told you so' types of trolling posts

If some choose to take a less emotional path, or see less to be critical of, fine, they are permitted to express their POV as much as you are to express your anger and frustration. Again, we wouldn't exist if we all agreed and there was nothing to debate, discuss and disagree with. No one needs to resort to personal attacks, disrespectful bickering, uncivil dialog or trolling regardless of your opinions. If you feel something is amiss, please use the report function that is at the bottom of each post and give us time to sort it out. Do not attempt to deal with it yourselves.

Lastly, if you and another poster just can’t get past one another, you have options … agree to disagree, ignore or walk away. Ongoing disagreement between the same posters devolves into bickering when nothing new is being said. Take a breath before you hit ‘post’ for one last retort and let it go.

Thank you.
