Minnesota Twins 2026 Position Analysis: Relief Pitcher
rdehring replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Thanks for another good read, Nick. And thanks for all the information leading up to next Thursday. As for the bullpen, I believe it will not be as bad as we fear. On the other hand, I doubt it will be as good as we hoped. After everything he has gone thru would be great seeing Liam pitching near what he was before the health issues. Final question. Haven't the Twins indicated both Prielipp and Rojas are starters? Why are they included here?- 77 replies

3 Twins Pitching Prospect Predictions for 2026
rdehring replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
How can we not be excited about all three. Especially those two young guns who should make several stops this summer. Hopefully both are at AA come August. Considering how much time he has missed, I continue being impressed by Prielipp's rapid journey thru the system. Don't know and really don't care what his role is with the Twins come summer. I just want to see him on the mound at Target Field.- 9 replies

Thanks for a realistic report on the starting staff. At my age the glass better be half full, so I remain hopeful a couple of these young kids will take that last step and become solid starters for the Twins over the next 6+ years. I continue to hope that either Abel or Bradley will take a big last step and challenge Ryan for the Team Ace crown. Hopefully this year.

Assuming good health, both Buxton and Lewis should hit that mark. Gotta believe Lewis' bat will be better than we saw last year. Expect Keaschall to be a special player. He can be that without hitting 20 homes runs. As you stated, 10-15 would be fine to go along with 30 steals.

Watching today's game which reminds us you missed one player who is going to get some time at DH, Ryan Jeffers. Will probably be only 20-30 games, but his bat is going to be in the lineup most days. [edit: at least until July 31.]

Believe that Keaschall has a chance of being a special player. Reminds me so much of Bobby Witt. Can he become Bobby Witt light? Love seeing him have a big spring. Should the Twins have any chance of sniffing at the playoffs, one of Bradley or Abel needs to take that final step of being a near ACE this season. Someone who will battle Ryan as the team ACE. Looks like both are working towards that goal. Can one make it? Or both?

How did the Twins get into this position? I'll add Wallner to the list and you have three guys who should donate their gloves to some charity auction and come to the ballpark with only their bats. Do you have a feel Nick that Management understands this problem and will do something about it prior to the season, which is now only two weeks away?

Twins Daily 2026 Top Prospects: #2 Kaelen Culpepper, SS
rdehring replied to Lou Hennessy's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Keep thinking that Houston is the guy with the defense I want to see playing at Target Field. Reading this report has me thinking KC could/should be that guy. He's got very good D and a bat! Will he arrive later this summer? -
Minnesota Twins 2026 Position Analysis: Right Field
rdehring replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Won't disagree, NIck, with everything you said about his bat. I will be happy if I never turn on the Twins game and see Wallner in right field. Yes, he has a big arm. But too often those throws aren't on target. He also takes bad routes and too often misplays balls on the ground. I still remember what may have been his first game when he misplayed a ground ball that a little leaguer should have made. Big bat, yes. Bat that could be huge part of the Twins offense, yes. But please play him at DH. -
Twins Daily 2026 Top Prospects: #4 Eduardo Tait

Thought it is again time for my disclaimer. When I use the smiley face it isn't meant to say ha ha, which I see as negative. I use it when I read a comment that brings a good smile. Thanks. -

Love this young man and look forward to his playing his entire career with the Twins. And wouldn't it be nice to see him playing for a ring some year down the road?- 17 replies

Twins Daily 2026 Top Prospects: #4 Eduardo Tait
rdehring replied to Greggory Masterson's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Report seems awfully critical for a young man who if he was from Edina would likely be getting ready for his senior year of high school. Seems that the emphasis on power in this and most reports is overblown. Isn't it possible for a young player to develop into a good, or even great player with average power? With the exception of one year, Joe Mauer never developed a lot of power. He turned out to be a really good player, wasn't he? -
Twins Daily 2026 Top Prospects: #7 Gabriel Gonzalez, OF

Believe Aaron at 6'0 was generous. When I saw him playing as a young man, sure didn't look like it. -
Twins Daily 2026 Top Prospects: #7 Gabriel Gonzalez, OF
rdehring replied to Sam Caulder's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
He isn’t built like a traditional power-hitting corner outfielder, at 5-foot-11, Although I only saw him play once a year, I believe Henry Aaron was 5'11, or was it 5'10? How tall was Puckett? -
Twins Daily 2026 Top Prospects: #8 Kendry Rojas, LHP
rdehring replied to Cody Schoenmann's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
A comment and question. I expect Abel to be part of this year's Twins rotation, not pitching in St. Paul. Understand Liriano was a bit younger than Rojas, he was, wasn't he? But could Rojas be considered Liriano lite? I really hope so. -
Projecting the Twins 2026 Opening Day Roster, v. 4.0
rdehring replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
A while back I stated that to be competitive the Twins will need one of their young starters stepping up and pushing Ryan for the #2 spot in the rotation. A young stud who has all of us thinking could become a future Ace. Someone like Cleveland seems to bring up every year or two. Its only a few appearances but sure looks like Abel could be the one. More recently stated the Twins need to be more like Tampa, ie, trade most of their good-to-very good players before reaching free agency. This spring that would be Joe Ryan and Ryan Jeffers. But the return can't be only prospects, rather must include at least one former top prospect who has some major league experience to prove he belongs. Preferably, one such player would play first base or shortstop. Also agree with the above comments calling for Roden to not only make the opening day roster, but be playing regularly. Unlike most, I would have him in right field.- 49 replies

Minnesota Twins 2026 Position Analysis: Second Base
rdehring replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Add me to those who would like to see Keaschall at second base long-term. Missed his play before the broken arm. But loved what I saw after he came back. His speed and aggressiveness is special. Love it and believe the Twins need more of it. A lot more. Will question one of your statements, Nick. You indicated that developing more power will be the difference between being a solid regular and star. Are you saying that without adding power he cannot become a star? Expect Rod Carew would disagree with that opinion.- 19 replies

Could not agree with you more, bean. Keep wondering how the Twins, or any mid-or-small market team can compete? Baseball needs better revenue sharing along with a real salary cap. But even with those in place, smaller market teams need to be better than those teams with pockets bulging with cash. Hopefully, that will be addressed within the next year. Unfortunately, I don't expect whatever comes from the coming negotiation to be perfect. First, they need to draft better than most teams, ie, they cannot make big mistakes like that rising shortstop several years ago. They also need to be smarter when signing International kids. With one of the largest International budgets each year, I don't understand why they almost never sign anyone from the top 25 or 30 rated prospects? Next, they need to do a fantastic job developing these kids and getting a better than average number to the majors. Once they get there, they need to be coached well so they become the most productive player their talent allows. Lastly, they need to supplement their roster with smart trades and the occasional free-agent signing, like Nelson Cruz. Yes, they can sign that special player long-term. Someone like Mauer, Puckett, Buxton and probably Morneau and Hunter. But most decent, or even good players need to be moved as they near free-agency. Get a good return to continually restock the system to have that constant pipeline of replacements. Yes, there will be years that feel like a rebuild. But if they are smart in signing young kids and developing them there should also be multi-year windows when they are very competitive. It seems to me that what Tampa has been doing is the best we Twins fans can hope for. Hopefully TP and Zell are up for the challenge.

Twins Daily 2026 Top Prospects: #10 Charlee Soto, RHP
rdehring replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Had been wondering who would be ranked the highest, Soto or Hill. Since we have yet to see Hill's name, guess I have my answer. Although Quick is older than this duo, he will make a trio of exciting young arms to follow this year and beyond. Maybe this pipeline is finally getting fully built with the results coming year-after-year. Hopefully! -
Love watching this young man play the game. Add me to the list of those who want to see him stay with the Twins for his entire career. And who knows, maybe, just maybe he can also get that ring a few years from now.

Candidates for the Twins Bench in 2026
rdehring replied to rstuedem945's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Interesting read, Ray. Also disappointing, especially when also looking at the guys ahead of them. Am beginning to wonder what TP will think after watching what could be an ugly start to the season? Could he sit down with Zell and say, this ain't gonna work? Let's go all out on a rebuild beginning with trading most of the starters a.s.a.p. Pick up another half dozen top prospects, including a few players who have actually arrived in the big leagues. Get the kids into the lineup and sell the public on a team that just might win a few years down the road.- 22 replies

Twins Daily 2026 Top Prospects: #11-15

Another fantastic read, Nick. Thanks. A couple young men with awesome talent/potential. Add one uber exciting pitcher and I like this group, although I also could see Mendez higher than a couple of these young prospects.- 23 replies
