  1. Just a reminder after that Dozier HBP. There are no other infielders on the bench. Or on the 40 man roster.
  2. One problem with that method. By subtracting guys not currently part of the relief core, you are also subtracting the guys who would be coming up from AAA- Curtiss, Busenitz, Moya, Duffey and even Littell or Slegers.
  3. The Twins have allowed MLB worst 42% of inherited runners to score. Only the Tigers (who have played 5 more games) have more blown saves than the Twins 13. Then there is the Twins abysmal 3-13 record in one run games. All of these are signs of a BAD bullpen - that you are calling “good enough”. Good enough for what? Actually, I’ll answer my own question. Good enough to result in a 29-34 record.
  4. Hitters are at .213 against him in 2018. I guess I’d like to find out how real that is. My guess is not very. But there have certainly been situations in the last 10 days now since he last pitched that would have made sense to use him instead of overworking others. Last night for example.
  5. Other than not having an infielder readily available if someone gets hurt for roughly a month.
  6. I’m not sure I buy into that methodology for comparing speed. They are basically comparing the absolute top speed for guys. Sure, for one second Grossman could be 9 inches per second faster than Adrianza. But going from first to third on a single, I’ll bank on Adrianza getting there faster every time.
  7. Apparently Falvine doesn’t think it is backwards.
  8. Is there some metric that says Grossman is faster than Adrianza? It certainly doesn’t pass the eye test. Ehire is pretty quick. I don’t know how much more time the Twins are willing to give Logan Morrison. My guess is the Sano to 1b/dh starts when Polanco gets back. With Mauer also likely back by then, Morrison is the logical odd man out.
  9. You can’t trade players no one wants. As I said, Reed and Rodney are likely at the top of teams want lists. Relievers usually are.
  10. Falvine really hasn’t had the chance to select and develop potential relievers yet. They inherited all the players at A ball and above. The only reliever that made his MLB debut during Falvine’s tenure that has done well is Hildenberger, and he had a rough start to this year. To the point that many were calling for him to be sent to AAA. No one else has done well enough to hold a spot. Not exactly a ringing endorsement of the system’s supposed surplus of relievers.
  11. I concur. If the Twins are sellers (and I still think they should and will be), Reed and Rodney are the ones at the top of most teams’ want list. Don’t really want to put a green rookie in the closer role. Pressly would be next in line, but he could be dealt as well. With a few years of control remaining, he would command a higher return. Next in line would be Hildenberger, with barely a year at the MLB level.
  12. If Rodney had “run” in from the pen, they would have needed to give him oxygen.
  13. I guess the question is will the Twins get more than one. I could see the players voting in a guy like Escobar. I think Rosario might be a final vote candidate.
  14. That was such a nasty inning, I need a shower.
  15. Hard to keep a team from scoring when you give them 5 outs.
  16. btw, DFA in this context means Damn F@@@ing Awesome.
  17. Here’s a move I’d like to see. Matt Magill actually pitching.
  18. Maybe Magill died and we didn’t hear about it?
  19. Sure am glad the Twins are feasting on the AL central.
  20. Twins winning the all important time of possession battle.
  21. 45 pitches. Just out of second inning. Looks like Magill will get to earn his check tonight.
  22. This just in: Odorizzi walks too many hitters.
