  1. Kepler has a career .728 OPS. It currently stands at .725. Blame player development for lack of progress, but I certainly wouldn’t call his effort “tanking”.
  2. Second game in a row to end with a strikeout.
  3. 17 pitches. 1 swing and miss. That’s actually better than usual for Busenitz. The guy simply has no ability to fool MLB hitters. That’s kinda important.
  4. Yay, Busenitz. Let me know if he actually makes a hitter swing and miss today.
  5. If you go with the premise that Buxton’s return is far from imminent, sending Cave to AAA merely means more OF play by Robbie Grossman.
  6. Compared to Yankee Stadium. Seriously? That’s the mother of all band boxes.
  7. No one knows how barren the farm is because this FO isn’t giving the guys on the farm an opportunity to play.
  8. That would lead me to believe someone in the rotation will be gone by then.
  9. Keller and Odorizzi both allowed 2 hits, 1 walk and struck out 8. The difference is that it took Odorizzi 100 pitches to do that in 6 IP while Keller sits at 87 after 7 IP.
  10. Cave with the golden sombrero to end the game.
  11. That’s the problem when a team doesn’t take a good look at it’s own players. Sometimes good ones fall through the cracks. You will never know how good a guy will be if he doesn’t get a chance. Belisle and Morrison should be gone yesterday. Get guys like Bard, Curtiis, Reed some opportunites before we see them in this thread next year.
  12. Well, they havd never counted mental errors. Escobar wasn’t close enough to the ball to get a glove on it.
  13. I have a bad feeling 2 runs will be plenty for the Royals tonight.
  14. So, Berrios needs a full 6 days rest after throwing 15 pitches? Twins are saying Monday starter is TBD and Tuesday is Berrios. I’ll wager most everyone else who pitched in the AS game starts Sunday.
  15. Poor route by Escobar. He drifted into foul territory down the line. The ball landed about 5 to 10 feet fair.
  16. I suspect part of the Taylor Motter transaction was to make room for Sano on Rochester’s roster as well. Although, to say minor league rosters are flexible compared with the ones at the MLB level is a big understatement.
  17. Can we please stop using the fangraphs “values”? They are so out of whack with reality it’s absurd. Dozier’s worth since 2015 is $124.7 mil? That’s $31 mil per year. Clayton Kershaw money. Stop. Just stop. They are worthless.
  18. Yep, Riverbrian 100%. Every at bat Logan Morrison gets from here on is one someone else should havd gotten. Vargas or Wade. Pick one. Let him play the rest of the year. See what happens.
  19. Serious question: do statcast projections take shifts into account? Because, if they don’t they would seem pretty meaningless and would explain a lot of “underperformance”. But how can they, because not every team shifts player X exactly the same way?
  20. I think anyone who sees this team as a contender is dreaming. The Twins have been below .500 since April 23, when they dropped to 8-9. They have been at least 5 games under at the end of everyday since May 26, when they dropped to 21-26. Harmon Killebrew and Kirby Puckett ain’t walking through the clubhouse door gang. Bad players. Bad performances. Bad managing. Bad decisions at the top. Blow it up.
