  1. I’m sure they do. Especially later in a game after how many different pitchers have made how many different indentations and divvots on the mound?
  2. Because they have to get a feel for the bullpen mound, which is going to be different than the bullpen mound.
  3. Except that now Garver has to not GIDP, something he is prone to do. Or not strike out. Another thing he is prone to do. This would have been a good spot for Austudillo, who does nothing but make contact.
  4. I have no problem taking Rogers out. He’s a lefty specialist, period. He has never shown an ability to get quality RHB out. He definitely shouldn’t be facing them in a high leverage situation.
  5. He may not get out of this. Half his pitches haven’t been close.
  6. Because that isn’t the role he has been used for all season. He’s pitched almost exclusively in the 9th with a lead. It doesn’t seem very likely to me that Molitor has all of a sudden decided to use his closer in a non-conventional way.
  7. If the trade already was finalized, Rodney wouldn’t have pitched at all. I have no problem giving Rodney an inning in this game. But why the 5th. Has he pitched earlier than the 8th in any other game? Like I said, I just don’t like the “we give up” message it sends.
  8. Maybe Chief didn’t specifically mention 12 or 13 man pitching staffs, but I did. And the post you quoted was him replying to that. You completely handcuff your manager if you plan on keeping a part time first baseman.
  9. I don’t think Romero starting has anything to do with the FO believing the Twins are back in contention. First off, they aren’t. Second, as has been said, they could have optioned Slegers after his last start (probably should have anyway) if they planned this.
  10. Not really sure I like the idea of using the closer in the 5th inning of a 3 run game. It screams “we give up”. Pathtetic Molitor. Absolutely pathetic. Just fire him now.
  11. Yeah, so Duke has had FOUR (not 1, not 2, not 3, count them FOUR - 4) 20 plus pitch outings THIS WEEK. But he is the MOY.
  12. Slegers must be legitimately injured. Otherwise they would just option him to AAA.
  13. They only used Pressly, Duke and Belisle today (in addition to Austudillo). Even using Magill that would still leave Busenitz, Rogers, Hildenberger and Rodney for tomorrow on at least one day’s rest. And Lynn could probably be used in an emergency.
  14. Were I to hazard a guess, his low ERA is at least somewhat due to being relieved before his runners score and better relievers getting out of the mess. If he is so great, why would a contending team let him walk away?
  15. Then that is poor roster management. The Twins have at least three others that easily could (Slegers, Romero, Santana).
  16. They didn’t NEED to. Magill is still sitting out there. The MOY CHOSE Austudillo.
  17. Austiudillo has no more business pitching than I do. Molitor has made dumb moves. This might be the dumbest.
  18. Get rid of the MOY now. This is just plain stupid. He has Magill who hasn’t pitched in a week. FFS
  19. We’ve said that like 3 or 4 times now... At this point, I’ll be shocked if he doesn’t finish the season as a Twin. Add me to the “not impressed” group regarding the new FO.
