  1. The ball went right under his glove. I know errors are never called, but that is an error. He got to the ball fine. He just let it get past him. That’s not extraordinary effort. That’s not getting the glove down to catch it. That should be an error.
  2. How is that a hit? A major league third baseman has to make that play.
  3. Important start for Berrios. Is he going to be the guy that was borderline dominant in the first half or the guy that has been borderline terrible in his last 5 starts?
  4. As opposed to the wonderful pitching and offense... Other than those three things, the Twins are pretty good.
  5. Yes, exactly. One year of AJ - and one of his worst ever - vs 250 plus saves from Nathan by itself makes it lopsided.
  6. Maybe we should see if his cousin Bob can fill in, mahn.
  7. It’ll have a hard time dethroning the Young/Harris for Garza/Bartlett trade or (going the other way) the Pierzynski for Nathan/Liriano/Bonser trade for most lopsided in team history.
  8. I wonder if this same umpiring crew will work the two games in Chicago.
  9. He probably would have crashed into the wall at full speed.
  10. I’ve found that women are prettier (when I’m) on grass.
  11. We may find out what Busenitz’s pitch limit is tonight. 35? 40?
  12. Me likey Austin. The ball makes “that sound” off his bat.
  13. And that doesn’t even count the guy he hit.
  14. I think we are seeing why the FO was reluctant to call up pitching prospects earlier. Now, as a result of Gonsalves very short start, the Twins will likely be forced into a roster move to bring in a fresh arm or two.
  15. I honestly did not see your post before making mine...
  16. I could get into very technical meteorologic jargon, but basically it’s a storm that’s spinning counter-clockwise and Minneapolis is at the northern edge of it. Very common.
  17. I suppose it isn’t a coincidence that both are debuting at home, but it would have been cool to have two MLB debuts in one game.
  18. Radar is showing spotty showers in and around Minneapolis. Any eyes confirm? Looks like it will move out sooner than expected though. I wouldn’t anticipate weather to be a factor.
  19. Except for the Marlins. Years ago anyway.
  20. Wasn’t sure where to stick this, so I figured this can be a catch all for playoff talk for now. So, Cleveland, even without Trevor Bauer - who may be back for the playoffs - might have the best rotation in the AL. They have 4 of the 10 highest bWAR for pitchers. They have one of the league’s top offenses. And maybe the worst bullpen. Although, Hand has helped and Miller certainly will also. Here’s my thought provoking question: If you are Francona, would you consider using Bauer out of the pen (if he makes it back) in the playoffs? There is no way he can miss that much time and jump right into the rotation IMO. BUT, an inning or two at a time might be something he can do. And it might be exactly what the Indians need in October.
  21. There is a breaking point of course. The Twins haven’t come close to it relative to the rest of the league. Not even relative to the league’s contenders. Of the AL teams with solid playoff aspirations only the Astros and Mariners have been impacted by injuries to a lesser degree than the Twins.
  22. fwiw, Gibson ranks 11th in the AL for pitchers in terms of bWAR. I know there have been plenty of discussions about what exactly it means to be an ace, or a # 2, etc. Just throwing it out there. btw, the Indians have 4 in the top 10. Which really tells you how bad their bullpen has been because their offense is also one of the league’s best.
  23. Red Sox rank 8 th on that list of injury impact. They might win 110 games. Something that has been done twice in the era of 162 game seasons.
