  1. Curious what he has changed or gotten better in the Twins organization that he wasn't that highly rated in Arizona but is here? Hoping it is more than he was traded for Escobar or the 7 inning no hitter he threw.
  2. He was the third best Twin's prospect at the beginning of last year. Top 7 or so in 2016. Somebody must have thought that, or the Twins prospects have been WAY over rated the last few year?
  3. Maybe that explains the lack of trading for established talent, the other teams aren't that high on anybody outside the twins top 3?
  4. What would they have gotten for Buxton, Romero, Rosario, Sano, Stewart, Meyer, Jay and Gordon? We can play that game all day. There is no arguing trading from excess, but there really is no such thing of excess prospects. Remember when Lewis, Gordon and Javier were excessive.
  5. The Twins could have traded just about every prospect for the last 6 or so years and not really missed out on anybody but Berrios. Yes, there are major league players and some pretty good ones, and some we are still hoping (fingers crossed) figure it out. But prospects are just that until they prove otherwise.
  6. I don't think anybody has or is saying trade Gonzo for a mid tier relief pitcher, they are saying or were saying package him and a few other prospects for a Major League talent.
  7. I agree this isn't the make or break year, because there isn't really anybody pushing him to the bench in AAA, but he if hits under .200 for another 40 game stretch, he should be really worried about 2020, because he will be the older guy pushed a side for the next prospect.
  8. To play Devil advocate, you could also say it shows not all top prospects make it right away.
  9. Gibson has been one of the top 10 pitchers in the American league the last 1 1/2, that isn't irreplaceable?
  10. Well we do know the pitchers they won't go after, too old, too expensive, injury prone, ones that would require trading prospects, in their prime but too expensive. I am sure I might have missed a few.
  11. Grossman had a WAR of 1.5 in 129, Palka had a WAR of .6 in 124 games and the fans (rightfully so) can't get Grossman out of town quit enough. As fans we really need to quick worrying about the average at best minor leagues players that the Twins have given up on worry about getting the best talent possible on the Roster.
  12. So basically everybody but Berrios for those three? I wouldn't trade any Twins starter for those three.
  13. My question would be, if the somebody offered those three to the Twins which twin would you be willing to give up for them three, Then ask would another team give up an all star for those three?
  14. How about Signing Manny and trading for JT? I agree just trading for JT doesn't really move the needle. But I will take an established all star player for a A ball player almost ever time.
  15. Weird Twins fans finding more reasons to not get an already established all star player, this time it is because he is a catcher, it is because of the cost, he might get hurt and because they can't give up a player that hasn't made it past high A yet.
  16. I like Polanco, but lets not forget his is 25 played a grand total 288 games and has had an 80 PED suspension. He isn't a guy IMO that blocks Lewis or signing a better SS.
  17. If this is True, the Twins did even a worse job then what everybody is saying. Maybe, just Maybe Lewis and Kirilloff come up at the end of the year, then 2020 would be there first year and big things would be expected in 2021, that is last year of control for most of the twins young guys. If they believe that they should have traded everybody for another group to come up with these two.
  18. I heard a guy on the radio ask the question if not now then when to signing a big time free agent. His answer was Never and I agree if the Twins aren't willing to pay Manny or Harper (not that either would take it), which free agent would they ever give the money to?
  19. ? Google average Temps: Chicago June - 77° / 63° July - 82° / 70° August - 81° / 70° Minneapolis June - 79° / 59° July - 84° / 64° August - 81° / 62° I will give you the winters high is a bit warmer and the low is quite a bit warmer. But how many baseball players are in either spot in the winter.
  20. He will be 29, but the time 2020 season starts, and there is no guarantee he will be a free agent.
  21. Allen signing with the Angels
  22. I agree. I like the Cruz signing, but adding another proven bat in their prime for the duration of their "prime" means one less hole to fill for the next X amount of years. I am not seeing a lot of FA's next year that I like, unless the twins want to pay for Bogaerts or a 31 year Rendon.
  23. Everyone of those players have a minimum of three years in the majors, and for the most part have been above average (positive WAR) every year. This is the EXACT Time to invest in Talent. They are cheap now, If the Twins are waiting to see if these players are worth building around, it is too late and they should have traded them away for prospects. Because if they aren't worth it the minor are filled with average future major league players and a few top prospects. You put Manny or Harper with this group and wow this group looks much better.
  24. is it 33.8 WAR, 1050 hits, 175 homers, or .822 OPS all by the age of 26 that makes him not a winner, or is it that played for Baltimore for 6 1/2 years that makes him not a winner?
