  1. Out of this list the only guy i would be reluctant to trade for pitching help is Rortvedt.
  2. Imagine in 2017 if the Twins would have traded all of their top 20 prospects to make a run. The wouldn't have Kirilloff, Javier or Garver but Gordon, Gonsalves, Romero, Jay, Diaz, Mejia, Blakenhorn, Chargois, Stewart, Burdi, Wade, Ynoa, Jorge, Rortvedt, Palka, Granite and Thorpe wouldn't really be missed. Maybe Rortvedt and Thorpe? What I am saying is get help NOW!
  3. For the most part it seems as if the Twins are prepping all their minor league pitchers for the bullpen since it seems rare any of them go beyond 70 pitches or so.
  4. I am over the Pressly trade, less than 2 years ago half of the people (including me) were ready to cut or trade the 28 year old former rule 5 guy with a .470 ERA. Now I want them to go out and get a few relievers for prospects like two weeks ago. If they would have done that, they could have been evaluating if they actually needed another starter with a good bullpen. Now they are sitting in a position with Cleveland actually trying to chase them down and 3/5 of the starting rotation looking shaky and the bullpen being the shaky bullpen it has been all year.
  5. I am going to start the offer with Fernando Romero and see what SF is looking for. I would be willing to add Alcala or anybody in Todays top 26-30.
  6. It is no surprise the longer a player is in the system and the closer they get to the majors the more they move down the prospect list. (Unless of course they are blowing away every level on the way up) I would expect the same thing to happen to the Twins top 3 if they aren't in the majors by the end of next year or beginning of 2021. That is the nature of prospects lists. The next young unproven player to the save the organization will be at or near the top.
  7. Not sure I am comfortable putting a rookie at starting 3B who has played the following games as third base. 2015 - 2 2016 - 3 2017 - 0 2018 - 32 2019 - 19 I would let Sano start and be ready to pinch hit for him later in the game. I would even feel better when Ehire is back. ( My mind could be changed if Arraez keeps hitting around .300 and doesn;t butcher 3rd base)
  8. Was watching that at bat with my son, and I said to him, first pitch curve low and outside, then 2 high fast balls and he will K. I was wrong, it took three high fastballs, one that was even too high for him to swing at. I like Sano, but he seems to fallen into the same trap as Buxton when he goes bad, also in a 0 - 2 or 1 - 2 count.
  9. Well to give him some credit, he did pop out to "short" third base.
  10. The problem I have with dealing Sano is it means either the Turtle will have to take over full time 3rd base or Gonzalez gets moved out of super utility role (which is what gives him quite a bit of his value). With the way Sano has been hitting lately I think he should be pinch hit for late in the game.
  11. Great Game, congrats to the Twins bullpen. Sano was an embarrassment at the plate last night.
  12. It is going to be tough for Garver, since Sanchez and Chirinos have higher WAR and he has been hurt. Odo, Berrios, and Polanco will probably make it with Kepler missing out. My guess
  13. After Rogers and Harper where does he fit? blow May but above Duffy?
  14. Question, do the Twins really lack blue-chippers? Lewis, Kirilloff, Javier, Graterol, Larnach and don't you have to inlcude the 1st round pick this year for now (Cavaco) I would think are blue chippers with Balazovic, Duran and maybe Enlow right behind them. Are there other systems with this many guys? or are Lewis and Kirilloff the only ones considered blue chippers?
  15. Greinke is the the 2017 Verlander, and if the Twins want him, they have another prospects to get him. Heard Glen Perkins on the radio (Saturday morning) and he said Syndergard is the guy to get and I agree with him. It will cost Lewis and some others but the Twins window is this year, next year and maybe the following year and he would be here for all three of those years and in reality Lewis will not be . The Twins minor league system is set up right now to allow them to target somebody and make an offer they can't refuse (will they do that is the question) Somebody mentioned that they Twins wouldn't need to pick Duran next year, and the is exactly the type of guy that teams take in the rule 5, somebody in high A having a good year that has a big arm.
  16. They way I look at him is he would probably be the second or third best bullpen option behind Rogers and Harper, so go get him, use a couple 10 - 20 level prospects and look for even better pitchers.
  17. Doesn't Garver or Polanco usually lead off against Lefties? With Kepler hitting 6th? So moving Buxton would results in another move as well. I love that the offensive is so good we are talking about small tweaks in the lineup and not replacing holes in the lineup.
  18. I see no reason to move Buxton out of the 9th spot. His OBP is only .322. Now if that got higher and he was stealing every time he got on 1st I could see it. Also who do you move down or around to get him higher up? Maybe Schoop or Gonzalez but that does that do anything?
  19. I expect the Front Office didn't think they would be this good either, or they would have solidified their bullpen better.
  20. On the Wild Pitch, I thought he actually swung (I could be wrong), but that situation last night he and Castro are the two Twins I don't want hitting with 1 out and a guy on third. After the the wild pitch he struck out on a terrible swing IMO that looked like he was trying to hit the ball out of target field. I like Sano so this isn't a criticism of him as a whole, it seems to me he doesn't have the ability to change his approach slightly based on the game situation. On a positive note for Sano, down by 1 late in the game he and Rosario are two of the guys I want batting.
  21. I love me some Marwin, I think having him be a starter in the outfield actually diminishes his value, and possibly opens a hole in the utility role. I like Wade but not on a championship type team. But, yes if some team has to have Cave to complete a trade I make the trade, but I think offering up anybody outside the top six prospects would get the deal done as well.
  22. I think trading Cave is a mistake because if Rosario, Buxton or Kepler get hurt the Twins are going to have another hole to fill. I look at TD's top 20 prospects (I would swap Rooker and Duran) and there is only two outside of the 6 that I would even think twice about trading (Enlow and Rortvedt), the odds are the rest aren't going to make the Twins or going to end up casualties of the 40 man crunch.
