  1. A former Twins prospect went that route as well. Dave Shinskie spent a year as the Boston College starting QB
  2. 3.31 pitches per plate appearances seems low on the surface. Any clue what average is? Was hoping he could be a lead off hitter at the MLB level but given that stat he might serve better in the back half of the order. I actually like Vielma and think he is a sure fire Major Leaguer. Hope he continues his success
  3. At the time I viewed it as a Danny Ardoin like trade with slightly better prospects. Working out for the Yankees moreso than the twins. Oh well
  4. I'm calling that Miguel swings the bat at some point the next time he's up
  5. With this group, here is my lineup: SS Jorge Polanco 1B Joe Mauer 3B Miguel Sano 2B Brian Dozier RF Max Kepler C Jason Castro LF Eddie Rosario CF Byron Buxton DH Escobar (yuck - can we have Park back and put him in the 5 spot?)
  6. I forget the site but there's a site out there where you can sell future bets like this. I imagine those odds will go up. That might be worthwhile for you to look into
  7. Not bad. Probably about the amount I put on that line
  8. Who the hell is giminez. I realize he's our 2nd catcher but what's his background?
  9. Impressed by the patience coming from both Kepler and Sano. They both worked a full count after falling behind 0-2.
  10. Former rule v pick Miguel Diaz is pitching for San Diego in a close game Looks to have pretty good stuff. Wish we kept him instead of Haley
  11. I knew he didn't throw hard but thought he could at least break 90 mph. How many major league starters that don't throw a knuckleball throw less than 90 mph?
  12. I actually don't mind the Stewart pick. He still has promise though he likely won't hit his ceiling. You could maybe make the argument for Clint Frazier but I'm not overly impressed with him. Other than that there's not much more you could do. It was a weak draft for where we were. It's too bad kris Bryant went 2 overall
  13. If they drafted Greene and he busted, I don't think I could blame them too much. If they passed on Greene for a higher floor but lower upside guy and Greene flourished, I'd be pissed. I think there's more risk passing on Greene than drafting him. The college guys aren't blowing me away like this kid is
  14. Who's the relief pitcher in this draft that we could make the first ever relief pitcher drafted 1-1?
  15. In case anyone is wondering here is how the twins original rule 5 pick is doing. http://eastvillagetimes.com/2017/03/padres-rule-5-draftees-progressing-through-spring-training/ TLDR: high upside, should stick all year, command is a question mark
  16. Cut by the nationals but pitched pretty well this spring. Should the twins bring him back?
  17. Haha. God forbid is right. I could not imagine getting hit by a pitch going 100 mph as a 15-17 year old.
  18. To be fair when I said that I had Rosario as a 2B and thought he'd hold more value per position
  19. A few years ago when they were both in Beloit I said that Rosario would be the better pro than Sano. I might want to eat those words but sadly it's still wide open. Would love to see both these kids prove it one way or the other
  20. Do we have any spots open on the 40 man? If May gets tommy John does that open up a spot?
  21. FWIW De Leon has been slowed by back tightness this spring and roughed up in his start. Brock Stewart (who many claimed to be piece #2) has been roughed up as well and is about to be shutdown due to shoulder tendinitis. I say good non-move
  22. Slightly off topic but had a draft question for any gurus. Any given year teams draft players that they know they won't sign. It doesn't have a rhyme or reason in that they could plan to sign a player they draft later on than a player they have no intention on signing. What is the rationale for teams to punt a pick at certain points in the draft? Why not get the best players and then punt the remaining picks? Do teams really make those picks with some intention of signing them?
