  1. Rosario I would be okay shopping. Kepler, no way. He's a corner stone. Even Rosario could be a good piece for the future. Probably wouldn't get the value in a trade for him. Shop Dozier, polanco, Santana, Rosario, and kintzler and see what you can get.
  2. Not surprised. I think this experience will be beneficial for him. Maybe we don't see the fruits of it this year but I'm hopeful he will make the necessary adjustments
  3. Can you please not move from the area? Just curious, but do you think you'll remain a fan once you leave? Hope you continue posting
  4. Jax is pitching today. Much ado about nothing?
  5. Ha. I don't even think joe Mauer made it to single A his first year.
  6. Yes. It's called not being able to just sit on one pitch the entire at bat(fastball). That's all he did in college this past year which is why his numbers jumped so much
  7. Think the only players you might roll the dice on (and leave off) are Thorpe and Arraez. Edit: added some names. I think you almost have to protect at least 7 of the names there (there's 9 names there that I personally would want to protect). A lot of guys need to be evaluated. Could be some good guys to consider trading. Some of these guys will be picked in the rule 5 draft
  8. Lewis Thorpe as well. I figure we could have as many as 7 slots open up. If we have more than 7 slots that should be added, it may make sense to trade some of these guys now
  9. Does anyone have a list of player eligible for the rule 5 draft and needs to be added following the season? It'd be helpful to get a list to follow those players more closely. I know of Gonsalves and Rodriguez. What about Diaz or Arraez? Who else? Updating to having a running list: 1. Gonsalves 2. Rodriguez 3. Thorpe 4. Stewart 5. Slegers 6. Diaz 7. Arraez 8. Palacios 9. Molina 10. Eades 11. Burdi 12. Clay 13. Reed 14. Curtiss 15. Murphy 16. English
  10. 0-5 with 2 more strikeouts. Left 7 people on base. Now hitting .205 in rookie ball. Yeah this one isn't going to pan out
  11. Love the investment down there. We have a really strong team and I hope these kids continue that tradition. We are starting to see the fruits in the majors and upper minor leagues. Hope this trend continues
  12. 90-91 is really impressive at that age. Pitchers have to be huge wild cards with international signings but we sure are getting bang for our buck in that department
  13. Exactly. That's my point. I highly doubt the Twins think he is a .240 or below hitter if they are shelling out that type of money
  14. I'm looking at 3 years of data. He is probably equivalent to a 30th round pick
  15. I think we know quite a bit now. He is struggling at the plate against high school kids. Is spending a lot of time at DH early on. And admitted he simply sat on fastballs this last year in college. Wasted pick
  16. How do you pay 3M for a guy with questions on his bat? Any info on the other OF they signed?
  17. DH again...... 0-5 with 3 strikeouts so far. Looks like Rooker was able to get his pay day being the 1 trick pony (sitting on fastball) this year. A bit concerning that he's struggling with rookie ball
  18. He sat on fastballs all year. He even admitted to it. He is a one trick pony and will be exposed at higher levels. That's the real reason why he's starting in rookie league
  19. Wow I get the feeling management must have thought that this kid was a must take and didn't want to risk him falling to 3. They probably figured at least 1 top prospect would fall due to their price tag. Sounds like a great pick
  20. Yikes. Yeah that's not encouraging. I sure hope he can hit offspeed pitches and that last year wasn't just an aberration. Just sitting on fastballs is not going to work much longer. He's out of the lineup today. Is he getting called up or is he already on the pine? He's already DHd in rookie league. He should never be on the bench.
  21. My new team would be as follows: SP Scherzer SP Kluber SP Sale SP Santana SP Berrios RP kimbrel RP Britton RP miller RP Mieja RP Booshers RP kintzler CP JansAn 1B Goldschmidt 2B Dozier 3B Sano SS polanco DH Mauer OF Harper OF Trout OF Kepler C. Castro Bench: Buxton, Rosario, Escobar, Gimenez
  22. I'd improve my pitching: SP Chris Sale $9m SP Corey Kluber $4.5M SP Max Scherzer $15M SP Ervin Santana SP Jose Berrios Add in a couple relievers RP Craig Kimberl $11M RP Andrew miller $9M RP Kenley Janson $10M RP Zach Britton $3.5M Add in some batters OF Bryce Harper $14M OF Mike Trout $15M 1B Paul Goldschmidt $1M
  23. Kid had a disasterous start to the year. Nice to see he made adjustments. If he keeps this up he could legitimately start next year for the Miracle and be well on his way
