  1. Torres, soccer possibly? Not sure if they carry a 40 man roster though, it’s awfully fast paced to count all the players.
  2. He did look pretty nervous out there. He might not survive mean streets of Eagan.
  3. Based on my experiences with the Bremer’s commentary, if he was the GM, I’d put the team’s over/under win total at about 20. So far I have yet to come across a poster on this site I’d peg below 35.
  4. Or they’re sending a message to Harper, Duffey and May. Man, what if they sat all four of them together in a room and made them draw straws?
  5. Less than 24 hours ago I heard Dick Bremer call Blake Parker the Twins most reliable reliever. Will be interesting to hear his take on the DFA tonight! I’ll bet he doesn’t go unclaimed, but this is a great sign. I don’t think much separates Parker from Harper, Duffey and May so none of them should feel safe. I was worried that they all might have been in a bit of a limbo where they weren’t good enough to trust, but their numbers weren’t bad enough to dump.
  6. You’ll have to be specific, there are 30 teams.
  7. Yeah, bullpens league-wide seem to really be struggling, which doesn't seem right after it seemed the Royals loaded bullpen strategy from five years back caught on like wildfire. It seemed like most teams attempted to stockpile stud relievers. There's still a few good pens, but so many of those stockpiled arms are no longer pitching well. Doesn't mean I won't expect the Twins to go out and become one of the few teams that have a pen that can hold a lead though.
  8. I like both Kennedy and Elias, but I don't want a LOOGY, I want more guys who can go multiple innings, not just one batter. Elias has reverse splits this year anyway and doesn't appear to have ever had significant issues dealing with either handed batter.
  9. They are leading their division and have pitching issues of their own. I don't see them trading a useful arm to the Twins even if they actually had one. The Cubs best reliever is Brandon Kintzler by the way.
  10. I actually would really like to see Harvey in the pen, I think there's lots of potential for a second career in that capacity. But that might be more of a early 2020 trial than a cross-your-fingers midseason during a playoff chase move.
  11. There are quite a few non-blockbuster type guys I personally want much more than some of the blockbuster guys. But if they don't get either, I'm going to be pretty disappointed.
  12. No, no please do. My mood is such that I could use a laugh at an entertaining bit satire right about now.
  13. I've never thought of KC as a team willing to eat money, but that certainly could be. Kennedy is just the only reliever I even care to acquire that I can think of any plausible reason he'd be available at this moment without having to pay a price that everyone knows is unpayable.
  14. Maybe they will end up selling, but waiving the white flag a week before the deadline when they're red hot and the fanbase is starting to get excited again would buy them a week's more grief than they need to buy.
  15. They won't cost it because no one will pay it. But SF has absolutely no incentive not to be demanding that kind of return at this point. Not that I think SF is actually going to sell, they have some good steam going.
  16. I understand why most relievers are for the most part unavailable right now. I don't want to use my chips to get Shane Greene for 12 weeks when they could get me Ken Giles for 11 weeks. But I would think that Ian Kennedy could have been acquired by any team willing to take on all of his contract. Surely no team wants to do that, but the amount KC will have to eat is likely the only thing anyone is haggling over, which I'm less than satisfied about.
  17. Great so give up Kirilloff for another frustrating guy like Shane Greene now when he could get Ken Giles next week. Sounds solid.
  18. I get that your mad about the pen, no one likes it, but what are you talking about? No other teams want to upgrade right now?
  19. What moves? They missed on Kimbrel but nobody has been traded yet.
  20. We need upgrades, but I don’t think people realize that every team has a bullpen made up of guys near identically frustrating as the guys in the Twins pen.
  21. Since he was converted to a reliever he near instantly gained 2-3 MPH on his fastball and he hadn’t given up a run until last outing.
  22. Now that the bullpen is taxed, does Staskak or Thorpe get sent down? You know, the two guys who are most responsible for the taxing.
