  1. If anyone is still listening..... I had purchased the SOM Hall of Fame board game when I visited Cooperstown in 2015 with my daughter. I made up a few teams and played a few basic games, but then put it away. Since my Sunday afternoons this spring are not spent drinking beer in the back yard while cooking something on the grill listening to Cory and Danny (or toddling down to Target Field to drink beer and eat a hot dog while watching Our Favorite Team in person), I went ahead and purchased the SOM 2019 card set. I have been having a lot of fun playing....all by myself. Please understand, I am not a baseball geek, just a fan. The lineups I have put together for a few games have been, well, interesting. To someone who knows the game better than me there is probably another word for what I've constructed - laughable. Anyway. I'm looking for someone or some people to play the SOM board game virtually or socially distanced. (I have the digital version of SOM. Don't really care for it.) What I am really looking for is someone who knows the game well who would play and, rather than make it a big competition, make it a session about strategy. I want to understand the game, meaning baseball, more deeply.
  2. I've got a partial season ticket package and and get a free MLB.tv subscription as a perk. I spend a few bucks a month on a vpn and set my vpn server outside of the Twins' blackout area. Voila. (I'll set it to Germany and imagine that MLB thinks the Kepler family is watching.) A season-long subscription is pretty pricey, but you can watch any game. Later in the season (after the All-Star Game?) the price drops, if you can wait that long.
  3. I pay for the MLB.tv subscription and I also pay for a vpn that makes MLB think I am somewhere else than Minneapolis. Sometimes the connection can be a bit janky, but it's good enough for now. I'd prefer to be able to stream directly from the team.
  4. Last two games I've been to: 1) Twins turn a triple play against Atlanta. 2) Squirrel! I think I'll go tomorrow to see if anything interesting happens.
  5. This has been a too many beer game. For a number of reasons.
  6. Like I said, plenty of wipes. I'll take one for the team.
  7. No worries. Plenty of wet wipes in our household.
  8. <rocking back and forth in chair, wringing hands, muttering incoherently> We can win this game! And we can get to 1000 posts on this thread.
  9. I work at that little shop! Just tuning into the game. My sister and her family from GA are here and we entertained. Another sister with a hearing impairment and can't have noise like Twins games on in the background if she wants to participate in our conversation. I finally got rid of the both of them and my other sister. (Not really got rid of them. We had a good time.) What happened? (Off topic, earlier, I actually read through the whole game thread from yesterday. I was happy to see people were having a rollicking good time again. Don't have time now to read all 600 some posts on this thread. What happened?)
  10. So is the All Hockey-Hair guy coming into pitch?
