http://www.athleticsnation.com/2017/6/5/15739748/the-as-should-take-brent-rooker-at-six-youre-welcome-oakland Check out this article on Rooker if y'all haven't seen it. Lots of potential in that bat I love the pick.
um Castro is about a league average hitter so far according to fangraphs, and above average defensive catcher to go along with it... at 8 Million a year thats plenty fine with me. The other top catching options were Weiters and Ramos. Castro has a 0.8 fWAR compared to Weiters 0.5 and Ramos 0 games played. dont complain when they got the right guy so far.
Jeez. bunch of debby downers.. I haven't been this excited over a draft since Buxton/Berrios! gonna trust the front office with Lewis and I think that Rooker is going to be a masher for years. not sure on the pitcher but he hit 96 this spring with a 3 pitches so I'll keep faith in Favine!
I beg to differ on Grossman, .403 OBP is pretty hard to find. look at the names ahead of him in the AL.. Trout, Judge, Sano... that's it.. If he still has .400 OBP in July someone will give up a top 100 prospect for him.
"rosario may be at triple A by July".... goes 3-5 with a HR and raises OPS to .733 lol as soon as we give up on Eddie he fires right back! don't give up on this guy, K% down and low BABIP too.. plus there's just no one to replace him tbh. Lamonte has cooled off big time
Tyler Wells is interesting. 13K/9 in 38 innings and last year had 11.22K/9. If he keeps that up I expect him to make a big jump in the rankings at the end of the year
Bux should have an OPS around if not above .800 and bunting at a 40% clip is not realistic and if it did happen thats still an .800 OPS and it gains nothing..
putting in more work doesn't automatically make you a better player. He was trash in the Spring and should not even be in the rotation over Duffey or Berrios. I'll be surprised if he's still in the rotation by June.
less bunts > more bunts. He's not a singles hitter he has too much XBH potential to be bunting ever. infield has to play in more either way or he will beat out a ton of infield hits
My order would be 1) Mauer 2)Dozier 3)Buxton 4)Sano 5)Park 6)Rosario 7)Kepler 8)Castro 9)Polanco.. Id be fine with Polanco at 2 doz at 3 and Buxton at 9 to start the year, though.
I think if they use him well and mix in Giminez or Garver vs lefties that a .674 OPS is definitely low balling. I could see a .700 OPS if he gets limitied LvL AB's.
Jay and Rosario moving to the pen convinces me the Twins will never bring up a good LH starter, Gonsalves will be moved to the pen before ya know it folks.
