  1. I came here looking forward to some bad Elton John lyrics, but found another Sano thread instead.
  2. Hotdish. Endless supplies of hotdish!!! I think the real answer to this depends on how this season turns out. If he stays healthy and has a productive season, I would think that he'd certainly try to capitalize on that. If he has a down year, maybe trouble staying on the field, then the odds probably increase quite a bit that he stays for at least another year under his current deal.
  3. I interpreted that figure to BE the hometown discount!
  4. I don't think I'd expect him to answer that any other way... ...that said I'm glad that he did answer it the way that he did. It does come off as genuine. It would be fun to see those two play together for an extended run and see where it goes.
  5. Interestingly enough, watching Kepler hit yesterday, you could see that he was trying not to pull the ball on at least two occasions where he made contact. On replays, you could see his hands getting through the zone first, dragging the barrel of the bat. That part isn't so hard, but you still have to time up the pitch. And that's the hardest part in the first place.
  6. I'm not forgetting about Arraez at all. I've mentioned that point in other comments as well. It was a pick your poison situation and LaRussa went after the RH batter instead of rolling the dice against the LH batter with the bases loaded. I think that's an entirely defensible position. Sometimes you just have to tip your cap.
  7. I actually appreciate this aspect. As a fan, I want to see the best players go head to head. Even better when the game is on the line. One player has to lose in that situation. Thankfully, Hendricks is the one that lost this time.
  8. Sano and Polanco have had a day off each. Correa has had two. Kepler is the only Twin to have played in all 16 games.
  9. I'm not really trying to take anything away from him. He crushed it. It probably ends up in the Twins bullpen without the aid of the wind and that's still an impressive shot.
  10. When healthy, he's certainly in the conversation at the very least. But he's got to be healthy. Regardless, he's fun as hell to watch! That is for certain.
  11. It's called the reverse jinx!
  12. I get the odds argument, but LaRussa bet that his all-star closer could take care of business against a RH batter instead of facing the LH hitting Arraez. That is defensible, in my opinion. It just didn't work out for him this time. That's fine if you disagree.
  13. There was also a pretty stiff wind blowing out to left, too. That ball was hit plenty high to get up in it. Still quite a blast though.
  14. Garlick PH for Larnach and remained in the game. At the time, he would have faced a lefty, but LaRussa changed pitchers after the PH announcement, so he ended up facing a RH pitcher instead.
  15. While that ball was crushed, there was a pretty stiff breeze blowing out to left. That ball definitely got up in it. It was definitely a home run anyway though. Regardless though, huge HRs by him today. He changes this team for the better. Just like the game winner, no doubt about it.
  16. This Buxton guy can flat out play!

  17. This team is so much better with Buxton in the lineup. What he's doing right now is video game-esque and it's amazingly fun to watch. It's also great to see him take this team and become the leader it needs. That fire after hitting the game winner today is something this team has lacked for a while.
  18. Loading the bases for Arraez isn't exactly ideal either. He could have won the game on a single too. Pick your poison. Sometimes you just have to tip your cap.
  19. Seems that between the extension and the lack of clear veteran clubhouse leader, he's simply stepped into that role. It's fun to see, that is for sure. He knows that it's his team now.
  20. I wanted the ballpark atmosphere!
  21. Now that was well worth sitting in the cold and wind!
  22. Gordon and Buxton a combined 0 for 6 with 6 Ks!
