  1. Yes it is. I've made that drive. Usually, I'll get off I-35 at MN210 and go through Jay Cooke SP and either go up into Duluth on Hwy 23 or cross into Wisconsin and grab 35 into superior. Depends on my mood. I'm usually all too happy to get off the interstate by then.
  2. A little less exciting these days. They've got an airlift wing there now.
  3. It just so happens that I'm also in the market for tires. Not sure white walls are my style though. Do you have any all-terrains?
  4. Grab a mitt and start collecting grill covers and patio furniture cushions and sell for for a premium the next day!
  5. They do realize that they have to drive through the Twin Cities to get there, right?
  6. They do. It's been a while since I've been there, but it's still there.
  7. I do too, but I typically keep heading up the shore to get away from the "city". It's gotten busier up there though.
  8. I have those! I've been lucky enough to have never lost one though.
  9. Yeah, it's about 85k now. It's growing again now thanks to tourism. They've invested heavily in it of late.
  10. You're getting devious with your game thread opener memos, @Squirrel!
  11. Nope. I don't think it would be well known, but I'm always kind of surprised by how people don't know of Duluth.
  12. If even that. Tornado watch until midnight.
  13. I've not done that yet, but I've had a few close calls.
  14. And thank you for the reminder to get my grill covered and put away before it hits!
  15. That would probably have been the sensible approach, but even if there's a chance they can play they will try. Even when they can't take BP due to rain and the tarp is still on the field as the gates open, they'll let everyone in there for an hour after scheduled first pitch before they call it. So, I'm not overly surprised they haven't. But yes, it isn't going to be a good time at the ballpark for anyone. It's just dark and windy in AV.
  16. I have tickets for tonight's game. Decided not to use them partially because of it.
  17. No, not looking good. Might be lucky to get 5 in.
  18. Also entertaining, but I just have the one request. Don't want to be greedy.
  19. My one ask for this evenings contest is to see Lewis and Buxton rounding the bases at full speed at the same time. A Buxton triple with Lewis on first sounds like entertainment to me.
  20. I don't think that's necessarily true, but it probably is in most cases. I think there's a distinction in that a "real" team also wins a lot of games against average to good teams too. And I would agree that recent past has everyone skeptical. In my particular case, I just see more of the same in this team and it's approach. Which, given last season, I expected this season to be a stepping stone anyway. Edit: And keep in mind that I do think it's possible to be "real" while also playing a weak schedule. To me, it really is all about how competitive a team will be in the playoffs.
  21. I guess that I don't feel that I emphasized the schedule as much as you took me to. I was using it as a reference to winning a lot of games doesn't mean they're "real". Anything beyond that context is not what was intended. And I agree that they've done well all things considered and I'll definitely take it. It's better than the opposite, that is for sure.
  22. In my view, I guess it depends on how you define real. I can enjoy what they're doing without needing to classify whether they're real or not. I can even acknowledge that they're playing well considering the circumstances that they've dealt with. But real to me is being a legitimate contender, which I don't believe this team is. I think that's reasonable.
