  1. It's not like swinging away has been all that successful either though!
  2. And the offense has loaded the bases with no outs and got nothing. Late.
  3. Two games in a row now. Key spot late in a game with the bases loaded and no outs. And they get nothing. This is not just a bullpen issue.
  4. Good to see that. Hopefully that means he's getting used to the new wrist.
  5. But why do the bats get let off the hook? They haven't added on to leads. Two runs doesn't win often against anyone. That's not getting it done either. It's a team game. Both aspects need to improve and do better.
  6. It's not working. Best cut him. It's for the best.
  7. Offense certainly suffers from both. I'm not entirely sure of the reasoning behind the extension, but the more I think about it the less I like it
  8. Ha! You'd think stinger would know this better than us all!
  9. I was thinking that too. I don't know how to feel about that.
  10. Is that what the dollar menu is up to these days? Inflation really is getting bad, isn't it?
  11. I like what I've seen from both in their short careers thus far. I am worried that they'll hit a wall in August, but hopefully that 6 man rotation helps avoid that. Each having IL stints should help as well. They both look like good pieces to a rotation though.
  12. I voted top 5. That's more of an indictment on the league in my view. That weakness is also what gives me some hope that they'll actually at least win ONE game in the playoffs though.
  13. For me, I stopped going to a lot of week day games because I work early. Games are too long. The earlier start in April, May and September helps but not enough to really entice me unless I'm interested in a particular game. The fact that many, myself included, can't watch games is pretty harmful in my view. Out of sight, out of mind. Current inflation and financial concerns are a pretty good reason for families and those on fixed incomes to avoid going to games.
  14. I like that you noted where Martin and Lewis played, Seth. It's interesting to see what they're trying to do defensively with both. Lewis looks like he should stick at SS, but I'm interested to see how they're rotating him around the field to get him back up with the Twins. And it'd be nice to see them settle on a home for Martin, wherever that may be.
  15. And a damn good defensive catcher too.
  16. Tough game to lose. Very, very winnable. And this team should win when the pitching allows only 3 earned runs over 10. The bats need to get going. It's late May now and they're struggling against teams they should clobber.
  17. Well, you ruined that by screwing up your end of the deal, so....
  18. I thought we had a gentleman's agreement that you'd go and we'd settle up later!
  19. Agreed. I expected the bats to be doing better by now though. And that's what has me concerned. And against bad teams.
  20. I'm still thinking the bats will come around, but the concern is definitely growing.
