  1. If a manager essentially refuses to use a reliever unless forced to, then that reliever shouldn't be on the roster. Today's bullpen usage doesn't allow for that. And it's pretty clear why Thornburg was a last resort.
  2. Correct. Every team blows leads. In the end, I still don't think Cleveland's run will be sustained, but they can certainly do some damage while they're on it.
  3. Thought you said enough pain! You seek more?
  4. Grasping defeat from the clutches of victory 3 times in a 5 game set is rather disheartening, to say the least. Hell, grasping a losing series from the clutches of a sweep is even worse. Gotta do something about the pen.
  5. So, how 'bout that bullpen?!

  6. @Irishmansays that he's done with the Twins on nearly a daily basis it seems, yet he keeps coming back! Misery loves company.
  7. Defeat from the clutches of victory...yet again!
  8. And the comment that you initially replied to was about the whole season. I'm not even disagreeing with you about today's game, but that wasn't even the point I was making with my initial post. And that point is still valid because it's been a problem all season long. It's not relegated to just today. Which is my point.
  9. That's been a problem all season too. The bullpen struggles have overshadowed the offensive struggles. They're both a pretty big problem. Bullpen is a bigger one though.
  10. It's not just Bieber that stifles the Twins. It's not just the bullpen. The offense deserves plenty of blame as well. They score a lot, or nothing.
  11. At least make them earn it. Is that too much to ask?
  12. and I think they're at the point where some more radical ideas need to be implemented. The patchwork that they've been doing is past its expiration date. I know injuries have played into that, but what they're doing clearly isn't working anymore.
  13. It's not just today. This offense has disappeared for long stretches of games, let alone innings, all year long.
  14. The bottom three batters in Cleveland's lineup have 6 combined walks...
  15. Maybe some of Duffey's mojo can wear off on Thornbourg by virtue of their shared first names?
  16. Going to need more to trust him, but he does look improved.
  17. That inning was like a breath of fresh air! Thank you, Moran!
  18. Don't worry. He's limited the damage they can make by walking them instead of allowing them to make contact.
  19. That's interesting. I would have figured that the "three true outcomes" approach would have an impact on that as well.
  20. Someone needs to carry the load until @USAFChief shows up!
