  1. Three GREAT defensive plays to end the game -- Plouffe, Morneau, Span (with help from Revere) and Carroll all deserve praise.
  2. Great defense by Plouffe and Morneau to make an important play. And I am glad that Revere and Span were able to avoid a collision. I am already sick about the Rosario injury.
  3. Who would want Blackburn's contract even if it was for a bag of balls? Liriano and Valencia both have the potential to be good, but have also been very inconsistent. And with the extra wild card slot this year, I wonder if there are many teams are going to be willing to give up an above average starter unless they can get someone who is more consistent than these three
  4. OK Pluoffe -- one more time.
  5. No lead seems safe tonight -- these last 2 innings are going to be challenging.
  6. Nice catch by the Phillies FAN -- cost the Phils at least one run!
  7. I am very sorry to hear this. Why the heck was he at third base?
  8. Span needs to get on base -- we need more runs.
  9. He started well tonight -- just seems unable to sustain.
  10. This is getting bad.-- Blackburn can't seem to get that one out that we needed.
  11. Phils seem to be figuring Blackburn out in the 4th -- we really need an out here.
  12. I would be nice to wear out the Phils starter and bullpen tonight so that they have a thin bullpen for the rest of this series.
  13. There are a number of us Plouffetists here, including our founding member, Bark's Lounge.
  14. Great post Brian. Some of those trades actually seemed plausible.
  15. Great article. I wish that I could drive there in five hours.
  16. Wow, you are totally on top of this -- posting before today's game is even over.
  17. The Twins have been fairly lucky this year in terms of avoiding injuries (other than the total loss of Scott Baker). And there is not a lot of bench depth. I will be happy with some solid, watchable baseball.
  18. I just hope that this does not turn out like last year. It would be a shame to miss out on good trades due to a false hope for contending. And while making the playoffs would be wonderful, the chances of actually winning a playoff series seem remote Also, if the Cubs are willing to eat most of Soriano's contract, it seems likely that they will want a major prospect in return. I would bet that the Yankees or someone else would outbid the Twins on this.
  19. Excellent article. Sounds like a good prospect with a great attitude.
  20. At least Doumit killed the shutout.
  21. C'mon Dozier -- any kind of hit kills the shutout.
  22. It would be nice to score at least one run today.
  23. Why was Dozier bunting with the Twins down by 4 runs?
  24. If only he had jumped up a little.
