  1. Sano had three more errors tonight. Maybe his size and tools would work better in the outfield.
  2. If they do trade Morneau, let's hope that they get more than Gould. If the Dodgers get even more desperate and if Morneau can pick up his game, the deal might be sweeter. One good think about the Twins position is that they can afford to be patient and hope that others will become desperate.
  3. I like your #5.
  4. Excluding Deduno, these guys all seem pretty far from making it to Rochester, much less the Twins. The fact that no one from Fort Meyers or New Britain made the list indeed speaks volumes about a failure to draft and develop good starters.
  5. Here are mine. 1. The White Sox will win the AL Central with a record of 90-60. 2. The Minnesota Twins will finish in 5th place in the division with a record of 66-96. * 3. Current Twins who will be wearing new uniforms after the trade deadline include: Span, and Capps if he gets healthy. 4. The Los Angeles will defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers to win the 2012 World Series.
  6. A Delmon Young walk off would have been unbearable.
  7. At least he did what you suggested -- it just took him longer to think of it.
  8. Great night for Doumit -- 3 hits, a walk and a HBP -- he's been on base 5 times.
  9. OK, Burnett got through it and I needed only one valium.
  10. Uh oh, we may have just jinxed him.
  11. He does seem to be having very good stuff lately. Maybe he has been partying with Plouffe.
  12. The Twins have 11 hits, all singles, and 5 walks -- lots of opportunities.
  13. Give credit to Swarzak for 2 perfect innings. If he gets the win, then he deserves it.
  14. I continue to believe that if Hendriks could develop an "out" pitch, he could be a solid starter. I hope that someone is working with him on that. I pray for the day that Parker writes one of his amazing articles about Hendriks with videos that make everything clear.
  15. Plouffe could turn out to be one of the great success stories of all time. He can clearly hit the stew out of the ball. The key will be whether he can sustain his recent success. If so, he can be our Mike Trout.
  16. Valencia has two recent multi homer games in Rochester. We should be talking him up and hoping for his success, because that will create an excess of third basemen. If Valencia can continue to impress at Rochester, then some third base hungry contender might want to trade for him
  17. Another great article on possible trade partners. I hope that someone in the front office is reading these.
  18. I am going to ask for nitrous, not to dull the pain of the dentistry but instead to take my mind off the game.
  19. I have a dental appointment at 5:20 California time, which is now looking to be more pleasant than watching this game.
  20. Another interesting report. Please add me to the list of people who would like to hear more about the food that they offer in the clubhouse.
  21. Good one Brian. I think that you have hit the nail on the head here.
  22. This is a tough one. Morneau has MVP potential, but is not having a good year. Gould has some upside bit may never pan out. Is Morneau more valuable than Carlos Lee? It seems to me that Morneau has a lot more upside and maybe more downside (due to his vulnerability to concussions). I would certainly want the Twins to see if they could do better than just Gould.
  23. Because Plouffe's success is so recent, I would think that other teams would be wary. And it would be sad to see him go if he ends up hitting 30+ home runs per year for some other team. From the Twins perspective, Valencia seems like better trade bait.
