    I'd say that 1-2 decent to good RP is most likely (and most needed). In on, but ultimately lose out on Castillo and Montas. Maybe a bat/catcher, but I doubt it. Whatever happens the front office is likely to say that "Maeda and Alcala are right around the corner and will be like trading for 1-2 decent to good RP that we already have". Or something like that.

    Mahle and Merrill wouldn't likely cost as much. Having said that, I think it's the bullpen that needs retooling more than anything

    Ok. So that didn't end the way it should. However, lets focus on some positives here. Outside of some very glaring issues pitching(wise) in the bullpen especially, the Twins lineup did prove at least to me that they are able to be competitive with some very good to elite pitching. The lineup in the past week was able to make Gausman, Tallion (to an extent),Cortez, and Cole look absolutely mediocre at best to absolutely dreadful. I hate putting on rose colored glasses, but if some things go the other way in both Yankee losses, Twins are looking at a sweep. Having said that, I wish there was a little more killer instinct in the Twins. Hopefully the Yankee series will show the front office that there are some issues in the pitching department and they can add some pieces to be competitive come September/October. Go Twins

    Very true. I myself was hopeful too. But 2020 was a long time ago. Fact of the matter is he's slashed .190/.267/.365 in 124 games between 2021 and 2022. He is who he is. That is a slightly better than league average catcher unless he starts hitting more. Honestly, I think Twins fans were spoiled with Mauer from 2004-2013, Suzuki in 2014 was an All-Star and was decent in 2015-2016, Castro was ok to slightly below average in 2017-2018 and 2019-2021 had Garver. Heck even before Mauer, Pierzynski was pretty good 2001-2003. That's over 20 years of above average to elite catcher for the most part.

    I find myself more of a Rocco supporter than deterrer(?). Having said all that, I think managers in general get far too much of the blame or credit for a teams success or failure.

    Win some, lose some. I once read or heard somewhere that in nearly every MLB season with every team, you'll win 50 games and you'll lose 50 games, it's what you do with the other 62 that matters. Hopefully this one was one of the 50 losses. New day today! Hope Bundy can get right quick or else he'll start looking like this:

    So, the bats up until this afternoon were cold, starting pitching left much to be desired and the bullpen outside of Duffy was quite decent in my opinion. Some thoughts: 1) Please let Buxton get a full season in. I really think he could put up video game numbers. 2) They're taking decent at bats, but c'mon Kirilloff and Sano. I think they start to get some to fall in soon. 3) The change of scenery for Gary Sanchez may do him a world of good. (this has quite the potential to age poorly) 4) Rocco needs to find a way to get Arraez in the lineup every day. Though I realize there were two lefty SP for Seattle in the first three games. 5) Duran is the real deal. 6) May be a unpopular opinion, but not having a named closer, or at least a de facto one will be a good thing. (Duffy's outing notwithstanding) 7) Go Twins

    Sounds like when I tore my ACL. Had no pain, just instability in the leg. Especially moving laterally and twisting. The more medical experts can correct me, but I think you tend to get more pain with a ACL tear when the MCL and meniscus are involved. They call it the Unhappy Triad

    I'll echo Baseball > No Baseball. I like the 7 inning double headers when I thought I wouldn't. I'll always be a proponent of the DH in both leagues. Hopefully everything will continue through the next 6 weeks.
