  1. Buxton flies out CF on his second at bat. It didn't sound like a particularly deep fly ball.
  2. It sounds like Burnett hitting Vargas was intentional. It was the 1st pitch of the inning and hit him in the leg.
  3. Buxton is the starting CF and leadoff hitter for the Twins today on their trip to play the Pirates. Buck started the game by hitting a single up the middle off of A.J. Burnett. He then stole 2nd base and advanced to 3rd on a bad throw from Russel Martin. So far, he's 1 for 1, 1sb and 1 run scored.
  4. I enjoy a good cheesy montage video... and this one started out strong. Then the target dog was playing the guitar in the stands. What does that have to do with training for the race? When I first saw the title, for some reason I instantly thought, "there can be only one" and then thought of a mascot version of "Highlander." That video would probably be a little more entertaining.
  5. According to the report on the Twins website is that he has a bruised pinky finger. He did have a great quote though: http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20130326&content_id=43327452&notebook_id=43336180&vkey=notebook_min&c_id=min
  6. It didn't sound like he reached out for it at all. It sounded like it came back at him fast and hit him on the hand and as Cory Provis described it, "knocked him on his wallet."
  7. X-rays have not been taken, but they do not think there was a fracture. No fracture is definitely good news, but a close call and quite the scare.
  8. He came out of the game after being hit by the line drive. They said on the radio that they were looking at his right hand at first, but the line drive may have been deflected off of his body. Let's hope he's alright. Updates to come.
  9. He wore #12 in HS. He was wearing #31 in NB last year, but that is Alex Burnett's number, so Hicks might not get to wear that again.
  10. Joe Mauer Career stats (BA/OBP/OPS): .323/.405/.873 Yup... those numbers scream "this guy sucks!"
  11. Thanks for all the help guys. I was looking at a non-comcast guide and it didn't have anything listed. HD is on channel 694.
  12. Does anyone know what channel FSN+ is in Minneapolis? I'm looking at comcast channel guide and I can't find it. I'm pretty sure if I go out to a bar or something, there's only going to be the NCAA tournament on and I would rather watch this exhibition baseball game instead.
  13. Agreed 100%. I haven't seen him Pressly pitch yet, but everything I'm reading/hearing about him sounds like he's worth keeping around. I'd rather go with him over Capps.
  14. And if you read the arcticle (which I'm assuming you did), they also got to go up against a 2011 Nick Blackburn. Personally, I probably would go with a lineup closer to "the book" vs. the traditional. I haven't read that particular article before today, but I have read some others about building lineups that have similar arguments about how to build a lineup. The numbers argument makes sense to me more than "that's the way we've always done things and it seems to work" argument to me.
  15. He sure did. They don't really mention how different that lineup would have been if Maddon had picked it though. Lunch bunch picks winning lineup for manager Joe Maddon and the Tampa Bay Rays, 5-2 over the Minnesota Twins | Tampa Bay Times
  16. You could always just pick your lineup randomly: 40th anniversary: Billy Martin picks batting order out of hat
  17. That is fantastic. I hope LNP leaves the page that way.
  18. There are a few prospects worth mentioning that, if the panned out, could really make for an exciting team. But, I am really excited to see some of the guys make it. I plan to try to make a trip down to Cedar Rapids some time this summer. It's going to be great to see an outfield of Kepler-Buxton- Walker. That will be fun to watch. Hopefully, I'll get to see Berrios pitch too.
  19. Do those stats include the home run he hit today against Edison Volquez in the Italy vs. DR game today?
  20. Thanks Summit. Your EPA was the reason I developed a love for beer with flavor. Also, thanks for sponsoring a great site like this, and being part of a great community. Drink locally!
  21. I'm also 30, and I always end up buying these games as well. It's funny how we fall into that trap. I also always create a player using the "Road to the Show" mode, play for the Twins and somehow poise myself to become the greatest player ever. This player obviously has the same name as me.
  22. Make that 5 HR's in 3 Games... Apparently, he's got the right-handed batting down today (3HR game).
  23. This is why I only play MLB The Show... I would have to assume that it has better predictions than that. But if Worley wins the Cy Young and the Twins win the Central, I would be tremendously happy.
  24. This is in the "More Baseball" section. I think this post applies to that. And I would have to say that people do, in fact, care about off field activity. If they didn't, we won't have so many posts about PED's and things of that nature. As far as this story goes, I'm glad to hear Ichiro is ok. Although he's getting on in years, he is still a heck of a ballplayer.
