  1. Thanks for the update. I knew baseball was growing in popularity in Europe, but I can't say I looked into it before. Can you provide a link to the baseball federation's home page?
  2. Thanks for the update. I appreciate the new definitions.
  3. His numbers in the minors as a starter are far less impressive. He seems to really have come into his own as a reliever. I'm not against trying to see if he has the stuff to be a starter in the future, but I can also see him being a key part of the bullpen in the future. Overall, I'm really impressed with him so far this season and it looks like it was a good rule 5 pick. Here is the baseball-reference link to his minor league numbers. His AA numbers look a lot closer to what he's doing now. Ryan Pressly Minor League Statistics & History - Baseball-Reference.com
  4. And break out the brooms!
  5. We might as well have Perkins start warming up now.
  6. Did Gladden just say "a little dorker"? Did I hear that correctly, and if I did, are you actually allowed to say that on the air?
  7. Of all the guys on the roster, Dozier would not be the guy I would have guessed that would homer in back to back games.
  8. That home run made me stop typing my email, dead in my tracks. I had to raise my fist in triumph as well.
  9. I can see all of those except for Torii. I can't see him trying to help other players get better. I could see Perkins stepping into a coaching job after he's done.
  10. I think Perkins can be around the next time the Twins are in contention. I really enjoy him as a player, and I would hope that he doesn't get traded. That being said though, if a team offers a good SS or SP prospect that can help the team build for the future, that might be really hard to turn down. Let's just hope that no GM offers the Twins anything decent for him and we are "stuck" with him for a while.
  11. I forgot about the JC thing. But what if a HS kid doesn't get drafted. Can he be signed as an undrafted free agent if he chooses not to go to college? It definitely would not be a traditional approach, but I'm wondering if this is why some teams choose a player that they are not going to sign to prevent a talented player from trying to do this.
  12. Am I mistaken, or even if a highschool kid goes undrafted, he could then sign as a free agent with a team, right? Picking a guy in the draft means that no other team can sign him for a year and he has to enter the draft when eligible again. This is all off of the top of my head, so I'm not sure if that is 100% accurate. But picking a HS kid that should be a top talent prevents him from signing with another team and gives your team a chance to redraft him later. I thought that was how it worked, but I could be a little off base there.
  13. Are you planning on put the amount they signed for next to their names as well? Could make it nice and easy to get an idea of how much they are spending.
  14. Richardson isn't on the 40-man though. So that would cause a roster move. I'm assuming that they confident that Hicks injury should be completely healed after the 15-days.
  15. Probably not a bad idea. I know that some of these guys are working on their English though. From what I've heard, Sano is spending a good chunk of his free time learning and improving his English skills. I have a feeling that others are probably trying to learn as well. That doesn't mean having a Spanish speaking coach wouldn't be a bad idea. There are those minor details that sometimes just don't get translated correctly.
  16. I just got the HTC One, and using chrome, it brings me to the full site rather than the mobile site. It's not a big deal. I have a feeling that it's an issue with chrome, because it brings me to the full site rather than the mobile site for other websites as well. I can't find any settings or anything that would be causing this, but I haven't investigated it too much either.
  17. That could have some to do with it. I've also heard that this was a particularly weak draft, especially for position players. Maybe teams are just going for best pitcher available. But I really have no clue. It could just be that these teams looked at their system and decided they needed some depth at pitcher.
  18. The description they gave on the MLB live draft wasn't that he couldn't have power, it more that he hasn't shown it yet. He could just need a adjustments to his swing to bring it out. Also, they said he's from Bloomington, IN. I've been to that place. You'd think the Twins might be a little skeptical of a guy that grew up (and went to college) in a town where they sell pitchers of PBR for less than $4.
  19. True. It just seems like a silly way to go about things.
  20. It only applies to the first 10 rounds unless you give them a bonus over $100K. Any amount over that is included in the pool money spent. So, you can't wait to draft in the 11th round and give them first round money.
  21. Penalties for exceeding the Signing Bonus Pool are: Excess of Pool Penalty - (Tax on Overage/Draft Picks) * 0-5% - 75% tax on overage * 5-10% - 75% tax on overage and loss of 1st round pick * 10-15% - 100% tax on overage and loss of 1st and 2nd round picks * 15%+ - 100% tax on overage and loss of 1st round picks in next two drafts Source: Changes to the new CBA that affect the MLB Draft
  22. Do you think the Nationals will bring him up for their series this weekend?
  23. The Royals' 5th round pick = Fukofuka, Amalani I wish the Twins would have picked him for his name alone. How fun would it be to type Fukofuka when talking about prospects?
