Agreed. I love watching the Twins beat the Whitesox more than any other team. It may be because I have a friend that is a die hard Whitesox fan, and I love rubbing a Twins win in his face... or maybe I'm just a horrible friend.
For some reason, I thought someone else had posted this up here. I read this yesterday and I thought it was a pretty good interview though. Well worth the read.
If you would have predicted that they would be doing this well before the season started, I would have told you to be a little more realistic with your numbers. That being said, they are off to a great start and this is definitely making for an exciting April.
I was at the game last night. his AB's were pretty good. The double was great. I can't comment on the error because I was buying beer at the time and missed it... But it was fun to see him playing. They'll find a way to get him to the big league club every day soon enough.
The Dodgers are paying $4.75M this year, and the option is a mutual option, not a vesting one. That does make things a little different. I still don't think the Twins should trade for him though. At least, I wouldn't give up very much for him.
The Surly cart is missing, yes, but the beer is not. There is a Minnesota Pub close to the "great clips" section. It's pretty much the first thing when you walk in the plaza from gate 34. Section 141. They have Surly and Fulton there (as well as a full bar). And the Surly was only $9.
Brock- I'm on a Droid Razr at the moment and it's coming up with the mobile skin when using both the chrome browser and the stock android browser. My galaxy nexus just melted a few weeks ago and it loaded up on the mobile browser as well. Both these phones were running android 4.1.2 (Jellybean) if that makes any difference. I doubt it, but maybe.
If those cost are part of the operations of the team, then those cost would be included. MiLB costs are usually independently run business, I believe. But, as others have pointed out, that $10.8M is not profit.
He was the captain of the first professional baseball team ever. The Cincinnati Redstockings. They talk about it in "Inning one" of Ken Burns documentary "Baseball" which is definitely worth watching. George Wright (sportsman) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Agreed. It sounded like he made some play out in the field too. It didn't sound like any Ben Revere shoe-string catches, but some decent plays. They may also have a plan to sign Hicks to a longer term extension buying out his arbitration years and perhaps a year of free agency. Something similar to the Span contract. If they do something like that, the service clock issue will no longer be an issue.
