  1. I agree with this 100%. Couldn't have said it better.
  2. I actually had tickets for today's game, but I started a new job a few weeks ago and now I have no vacation time to use on awesome things like going to a baseball game in the middle of a work day.
  3. A bad day at the ballpark is still better than most days anywhere else. I'd take a game in the sun over work 10 out of 10 times. Take advantage of it when you can.
  4. All I have to say is this:
  5. Justin Morneau would like to argue you point about Twins players going to the Pirates and performing. I think it only applies to our pitchers. So you're prediction about Correia is clearly accurate.
  6. Sorry, I didn't really read the article carefully enough before my last post. I was recalling all this competitive balance draft info from memory. The Twins potential pick is absolutely from revenue sharing. I don't know if they'll count all of the revenue for the ASG into the equation for the 2016 competitive balance draft. I'm guessing not, as that would seem a bit unfair to any team that wanted to host the game, but who knows. I still would think that the Twins may have a chance to slip into the 10 lowest revenue teams this year, which would leave them with a chance for a competitive balance draft pick in the 2016 draft.
  7. I believe that St. Louis gets into this group due to their market size. The market size is determined by the league and TV broadcast area, I believe, but I'm not 100% sure. I do remember being very surprised by the size, but when you see where they are in the country, you can see that they have to compete for fans with several teams fairly close to them geographically. I don't believe that they ever fall into the bottom ten teams for revenue, as St. Louis fans are big into baseball. Seeing as how the Twins market size didn't shrink at all, I'm assuming that revenues fell into the bottom ten last year. Looking at revenues from previous years, the Twins were pretty much on the bubble of the bottom ten for several years. I'm not sure if their revenue dropped, other teams' revenues went up, or both.
  8. Glad to see Santana back. I wonder if he'll make an appearance in tonight's game.
  9. I would love for it to be Arcia, but I voted Dozier. Assuming that he didn't screw up his swing in the Home Run Derby (I don't really believe that he did/could do this), I have this feeling that he's going to keep up something close to his current HR pace.
  10. I was there for the whole thing. You guys are right, it took a while. There was the one shot that Stanton blasted into the upper deck. That was an absolute laser. I think that giving the leaders a bye screwed them up. During the first round, I thought we'd see Stanton/Bautista in the final round. I wish we would have seen that.
  11. I'm officially in for the happy hour.
  12. Agreed. Vargas hit that ball hard, and it took a great play to make it close at second. Despite what KLaw says, Vargas beat that throw, just barely.
  13. The double from Vargas was a really nice hit. He definitely had the throw beat too, but it was close and a really nice throw was needed to even make it close. Overall, it was a fun time. I am glad that I got to be there.
  14. Well, I'm at a brewery fairly close to Coors Field, and taking off for the game shortly. I may try to post during the game, but that may not happen. I've been drinking delicious Denver beer all day.
  15. I been voting for Morneau. A lot of votes. I'm going to be at the game, and I'm hoping to cheer him on. I voted some for Sale, but then I reset my vote to only vote for Morneau. I don't really care who the extra man for the AL is to be honest. I'm actually going to be at the Rockies game on Friday in Denver as well. Hopefully, they'll be able to make an announcement at the game that Mornie is coming back to Minneapolis for the game.
  16. Agreed. He even said that he would be willing to participate in the HR derby as well. I actually have put in a bunch of votes for him online, which is something I don't normally do. Congrats to Dozier. I'm going to be at the derby, and I hope to see a lot of dingers from Dozier. #VoteMorneau
  17. Great update on what is happening down in CR. I'm excited to see what Hu can do. I like that the Twins have been scouting in Taiwan, and I'm hoping some of these signings will pan out. Do you have a scouting report for Hu? I'd love to hear about what kind of pitches he throws.
  18. I'm going to at least drink an ounce of beer for every home run. Probably two ounces per.
  19. I'm on untappd as well. It's a great app. I agree with the fact that an IPA isn't always the best on a hot day. My opinion is Bud light tastes like bad water. I do go for Budweiser sometimes on the golf course, but that is usually when options are limited. If those machines had Grainbelt in them, I'd be taking advantage of them.
  20. I saw this. It's an interesting idea. Unfortunately, there are only 4 different beers you can get, and none of them are really beers that I would normally drink. It looks like the price is pretty much comparable to the concession stand though. The 20 oz beers are $7.60 for Bud and Bud light, $8 for the shock top and Goose Island. It's a good scheme though, you have to buy $10 or $20 cards. I guess you could always pour yourself $2 worth of beer though.
  21. Well, I was wondering what I was going to do before the home run derby. Now I have an answer. I'm going to probably be there.

  23. You have to be careful with those types of references.
  24. 1980's day for sure! Cocaine right off our powder blue jerseys. I'll probably just stick to tacos instead today, though. Those aren't illegal yet, right?
