  1. Also in the cannon of exceptional low-budget regional advertisements: Kinetico commercial featuring dog cameo and overwhelmed man with laundry.
  2. Top 5 commercial for sure. Current favorite is the Sanford Orthopedics "children-act-about-sports" spot, though. I don't know what 'it' is, but the football guy's got 'it.'
  3. That may be a little too sweet, but it's a beautiful thought.
  4. I like to think that Mollie's got the chutzpah to shuffle these guys around. I'm just not sure how much say he really has.
  5. Almost no one hits the ball as hard as Sano does.
  6. Reasonable. However, Duffy already throws four (five?) pitches. A couple of them are fastballs and a couple of them are curveballs. They all move and they travel at a variety of speeds. So, how's Ricky's changeup? Must be pretty damn good.
  7. I'm going to peg Buck's age 22 season to that of Andrew McCutchen. .286/.365./471, 12 HR, 22 SB, RoY candidate.
  8. Park did steal 48 bases in his last four seasons in Korea, and won 3 Golden Glove awards. It's not crazy to believe he possesses enough speed and athleticism to at least handle RF. That's a sweet take, right there. I'd bet Mollie starts shuffling the deck come May.
  9. Well, then allow me to be the first, because someone has to say it: Sano is the battest dude around. Period.
  10. Let this kid do whatever the hell he wants. Whatever the hell he wants. Pay him what he wants, let him eat what he wants. If he gives Mollie a nickname he doesn't like, so be it. If he wants to pet TR's bald head before every home game, then that's the way it's gonna be. DON'T SCREW THIS UP!
  11. I would argue that tommy John has become the crutch baseball leans on to cultivate young 100 mph talent. But it's not sustainable. The inverted w theory is the real deal, imo.
  12. Anyway, point is, he's been through a lot, and it's probably tough to raise your arm angle when you can't lift your head up. I think he's still got it in him to be real good. I'm pulling for him.
  13. Ouch man. He had a puppy and it died. Speaking from experience, my own two-year old dog died on me a while back and it was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. So, no, not kidding. Good question though.
  14. How about spend more time developing (and talking about) stronger mechanics?
  15. His dog died too, right around the same time. I think it was a hyper-emotional spring last year, and it took a toll.
  16. Not buying that one bit. I think Williams is the sacrificial lamb in this situation. I bet everyone got tired of having a child around all the time, and no one wanted to hurt feelings. Also, from what I read, Sale blew up over this, but that seems to be way more about Williams and Sale's opinion that he's out of touch with the players. This just gave him a reason to start yelling and throwing things around.
  17. So, this isn't related to the story, so I'm sorry about that, but for some reason, when I saw Ortiz, I immediately thought of this. If you haven't read this, do yourself a solid. http://www.theonion.com/article/david-ortiz-terrified-after-hearing-about-red-sox--20171 Now, on with the chlorophyll.
  18. Appreciate the response. Seems like the type of insight that should help, but it just doesn't. Do you think I could, maybe, watch you eat cottage cheese sometime?
  19. Serious question: is cottage cheese for girls? Just something that's been challenging me since toddlerdom.
  20. Edit - I forgot to ask if Ricky Nolasco's son hangs around the Twins clubhouse much. Pretty sure most would agree ricky, himself hangs out too much around those parts, so...
  21. Dude don't even get me started on dave laroche.
  22. I would be less than thrilled if my coworkers brought their kids to work every day. Somebody would be asked to leave.
