    In theory ... but a lot of people today operate on a 'save yourself' mode ... they also believe anyone who needs help just isn't working hard enough.

    You hit the nail on the head with your first sentence. While I appreciate the vocabulary lesson, these words are not being used in a civil manner, despite their meanings, and we have received complaints to that regard. So, I am asking once again, to please refrain from such usage to keep the discussions on target.

    Everyone ... please let's leave out the labels 'apologists' and 'haters' in our discussions. There are always two sides to every issue and people have the right to disagree, but stop with the labels.

    Here again, I don't think the onus is just the manager's for that. At the level Plouffe is at, I think his focus is on him.

    I hear ya. Unfortunately, the only way to find out is to make changes. I hesitate to use the term 'better' but certainly a different approach is warranted. But in Plouffe's case, I think it's more than a different manager, I wonder what the heck is Plouffe's problem. I think it's more than just a manager.

    You know the saying .. you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear ... while maybe a different manager would have made the difference in a few more wins, ultimately, the make up of the team is more the reason why we are the way we are. imo.

    Until we know what's happening with Mauer, who knows where that leaves Parmelee. And unless he turns some kind of major corner, I'd say his future is pretty short. But who knows. I've learned that there is no way to predict what decisions the FO makes.
