  1. This was my hope ... that there was something else in the works. Which it still could be. I read earlier that Florimon is likely not heading north (trying to find that again) so thought Bartlett would be on the team as a backup there. Wow ... not sure what to think right now. More questions keep popping up.
  2. oops ... cross-post to JB ... got my answers now. So freaking insane is right. Wow.
  3. Wait ... Parms wasn't on waivers, was he? I hadn't heard that. Hadn't heard that Presley was either, for that matter. And with Florimon questionable to start the season and likely going to extended ST because of his appendectomy, I guess Bartlett makes the team as a super-utility player, both backup to infield and CF?
  4. Moderator note: I would suggest you read this part of the Comments Policy, then after doing so, read the whole policy. http://twinsdaily.com/showthread.php/8837-Twins-Daily-Comment-Policy-latest-revision-September-2013?p=164885&viewfull=1#post164885 If you wish to discuss moderation, please start a thread in the 'Questions About Twins Daily' forum, or write to one of us. These forums are not a free-for-all where you can say what you want, when you want, how you want. All we ask is for a little respect and civility in our discussions and our debates. We realize passions run high and we have given much leeway understanding current frustrations, but if we have moderated posts and threads, it is for a reason that a post is either well off track, highly disrespectful, or just plain rude. And I believe that should also answer your response in the thread about Kubel. Thank you.
  5. I'm still trying to decide whether or not to go to any of these ...
  6. Getting this up EARLY today because my day later on is a mess! But I love my job! I just wish I could watch baseball while I'm working. Thanks to SampleSizeOfOne for posting a game thread yesterday ... it was great! Pirates: SP, Cumpton Josh Harrison ® LF Travis Snider (L) RF Andrew McCutchen ® CF Travis Ishikawa (L) 1B Neil Walker (S) 2B Gaby Sanchez ® DH Tony Sanchez ® C Jordy Mercer ® SS Clint Barmes ® 3B Twins: SP, Nolasco Brian Dozier ® 2B Joe Mauer (L) 1B Jason Kubel (L) LF Josh Willingham ® DH Oswaldo Arcia (L) RF Trevor Plouffe ® 3B Kurt Suzuki ® C Aaron Hicks (S) CF Pedro Florimon (S) SS Since I'm not Brian, I haven't quite as much to think about. I was at the game last Friday when Nolasco pitched, and the Mets scored 7 runs in the first. I just hope Nolasco does better. And this lineup ... I don't hate it; I think it's about as good as it can get with what we have. I'd swap Suzuki and Hicks, though, but at this point, whatever. Okay, chatter it up ... and play ball! (in a few hours)
  7. Another one out of the park.
  8. Thanks for putting this together, SSO1.
  9. Well pooh. I needed some mindlessness while sitting at the airport.
  10. If they send Colabello down I will be really mad. Hmpf! But then Len 3 said Gibson was our 5th starter so I will believe it when the Twins say it.
  11. That's a discussion for another thread. Don't derail us here.
  12. I think Mauer should be batting 2nd but then who bats 3rd? If Arcia were hitting better maybe him but ... that's the problem. As I said what do I know?
  13. Here I am at the airport killing time before my flight home. Am so sad to be leaving this warm weather, but that sadness is buffered a bit by the fact that it is raining here in Fort Myers. And just watch, I'll get the lineups and game thread posted and the game will get cancelled. So be it, and here they are: Rays: SP, Archer Matt Joyce (L) RF David DeJesus (L) LF Ben Zobrist (S) 2B James Loney (L) 1B Wilson Betemit (S) DH Desmond Jennings ® CF Logan Forsythe ® 3B Jose Molina ® C Yunel Escobar ® SS Twins: SP, Pelfrey Brian Dozier ® 2B Kurt Suzuki ® C Joe Mauer (L) 1B Josh Willingham ® LF Jason Kubel (L) DH Trevor Plouffe ® 3B Oswaldo Arcia (L) RF Aaron Hicks (S) CF Pedro Florimon (S) SS I'm so not a fan of this order, but what do I know? As a girl, I was told to go play softball, and I did. So, let it begin and play ball!
  14. Wish I could. These are the type of things I like to support.
  15. Lol, okay. I don't do it on purpose but the phone posting is weird.
  16. I'm disappointed that Tonkin was sent down. Not completely surprised, but disappointed. Interesting that it might be a battle between Bartlett and Presley? Not sure what I think of that but seeing the two of them play the last couple of weeks, I'd honestly take Bartlett over Presley. But man, to me when that is your choice, well, hmm.
  17. Lol why? If I had posted a pic of Punto it would've been of him sliding head first into first. Actually, I'm quite disappointed that you didn't!
  18. By that same logic why is it not unthinkable that we could see a lot of guys not regress, too. It's just the other side of the same coin. Frankly, I don't know what to think at this point so I'm going with my old standard of hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst. It's anyone's guess at this point. But you asked the question, and the answers we've seen is that some think yes and some think no. And the truth is we won't know until the end of September.
  19. Moderator note: We are ALL fans for better and for worse. Let's stop that aspect of this debate, please, and back to the discussion of this year's team ... better or worse than last year?
  20. This, this, this! I had said in another thread Gibson for the 5th spot and Deduno out of the pen with occasional spot starts. Mostly I questioned Deduno's shoulder going forward as a starter, at least for now. And I just felt that Gibson was right for the 5th spot; if not now, when? So this is good all around.
  21. Thank you for posting what is obvious. It was a moment of enjoyment for me, however.
  22. The scoop? TKs yelling things out from the bench and I have a nice shot of mientkiewicz's ass
