  1. Well, now you have your scale set for any future comparisons.
  2. Nah, that's just for shoe shopping.
  3. It's cold out, it's the beginning of the season, meh ... I'm okay with him coming out today. Next month in the same situation? Probably not.
  4. Don't you start with me ... I'm doing my best trying to be at work today.
  5. These radio ads are doing their trick ... I really want some licorice, and some Sheboygan sausage, then go test drive a Taurus and stop at Kwik Trip on my way to the Harley Davidson dealership and Treasure Island Casino.
  6. Honestly ... that looks a little like Sao Paolo
  7. Gives new meaning to what a salad is in Chief's house.
  8. Hey, be nice! These are great guys! I say 'hi' to them every day on my way to work.
  9. Heh ... hearing the radio announcers say 'And Willingham runs that down' ... well ... seeing is believing I guess.
  10. Maybe if we send in your avatar we might have a chance
  11. ACK!!!! Not what I like hearing.
  12. It wasn't between gray or grey ... it was between goose or gray/grey duck
  13. So tempted to edit this to correct it to Gray Duck! And you're from Minnesota????
  14. hahaha, winston ... love it!
  15. Yeah, but I do like the face mask. It's kinda superhero-ish looking.
  16. I'm not gonna worry about that yet until we get 50 games in and he's only played 30 of them. Or something like that. One game off is hardly a trend yet.
  17. Gametime forecast: 36 deg, clear, 0%PoP Twins: SP, Gibson Dozier 2B Mauer 1B Willingham LF Colabello DH Plouffe 3B Kubel RF Pinto C Hicks CF Florimon SS Indians: SP, Carrasco Morgan CF Swisher 1B Kipnis 2B Santana DH Brantley LF Cabrera SS Murphy RF Gomes C Chisenhall 3B Okay, Brian. Tag! You're it! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Duck Duck Duck Duck Duck Duck... Goose (or gray/grey duck)!!! (Hey watch where you are pinching... The Game isn't played like that... Top of the Head for Goose... Just like the Duck part) Thanks ChiTown Things to Think about: 1. Arcia -- I can see folks are already up in arms over Arcia on the Bench today. I'm not... He's wearing a snowmobile suit under his uniform and he's 2 for 18. It isn't Kubel that has Arcia on the bench today. It's Colabello... Colabello is swinging better right now. I think he should play right now. Arcia will not regress spending a cold day on the bench. 2. Kyle Gibson -- Kyle was much anticipated last year and we were a little underwhelmed. Let him start a new with brand new anticipation as we all hope that Gibson becomes a valuable member of this team going forward. Let it all begin today!!! 3. Colabello -- Already mentioned in Thought #1... But worthy of his own thought. I've always been intrigued by his power... It's obviously legit but I spent last year watching him and wondering how he could possibly be a consistent hitter against MLB pitching when he stood 15 feet from the plate. It forced him to step sideways into everything and that forced everything to RF. It left him vulnerable to the outside and compensation to reach the outside pitch left in vulnerable to the inside pitch. He's much closer to the plate now and my concerns about him are starting to fade. It's early yet but I feel optimistic about what he can deliver for us in 2014. 4. Brian Dozier -- He had a great game yesterday and I'm a Dozier believer but I still can't help but wonder if his style would be better suited in an RBI Spot down in the order. The Twins don't have a legit leadoff guy. Hicks will eventually lead off but not now... Let him find his major league feet. Until then Dozier is the default lead off guy. 5. Super Human Powers -- If you could have any super human power what would you choose? I'm going invisibility... The Rooms that I could walk into and conversations I could creep on. I could hang out in the oval office undetected... The Twins Front Office... The nuance and understanding of things would truly increase if I was truly curious. For a good time... I could make things seemingly float... staplers and stuff would seem weightless and move across the room and I could watch the faces of people trying to comprehend what is happening. Clothes would be optional for me... I could be naked 24/7 and no one would know. The biggest problem that I would encounter would be my chatty nature. My constant talking would certainly give myself away.

Gametime forecast: 56°F • Light Rain • 72% PoP Twins: SP, Pelfrey Dozier 2B Mauer 1B Willingham LF Colabello DH Plouffe 3B Arcia RF Suzuki C Hicks CF Florimon SS Indians: SP, Salazar Morgan CF Swisher 1B Kipnis 2B Santana 3B Brantley LF Cabrera SS Murphy RF Gomes C Chisenhall DH Check back later for Brian ... he's doing his thing: http://www.sortius-is-a-geek.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/thinker_man_statue.jpg --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thing Done... Thanks ChiTown Things to think about: 1. Cold Weather -- Let's be honest... The Baseball played by both teams on the South Side of Chicago wasn't what I call professional baseball. As fans when we watch it... it leaves us a little nervous about what lies ahead. Gardenhire pointed out that the weather was a factor and I think that is quite possible. I remember playing in weather when I was in High School. The bat stung... the wind did tricks with the baseball... It's hard to focus when you are constantly thinking that it's flipping cold out. I remember that from my high school days and that's probably why they looked like high schoolers at times. 2. Cleveland Indians -- Fresh Blood to play... A first look at the Division rivals from Cleveland... After having a nice run last year... The fans in Cleveland are gulping a little with the loss of Kazmir and Ubaldo from the rotation. Did Cleveland take a step back many seem to think so and the answer to that question will be cumulative as the season progresses. 3. Mike Pelfrey -- Last year he was coming off injury and it took a little while before he started pitching half way decent but he did start pitching half way decent. He has a new contract with the Twins so the Twins must assume that the 1st half was explained by his recovery from surgery. Today is start #1 for the big tall Pelfrey. 4. Carlos Santana -- Playing 3B... A few of us have thought about moving Joe Mauer to 3B. Many have argued that you can't move a guy to 3B from the C position just like that. The Indians are trying it out. I'll be very interested in watching the defensive play of Santana... Especially considering that the DH Lonnie Chisenhall is a 3B. 5. April 4 -- On this date in 1948... 84 Year old Connie Mack challenged 78 year old Clark Griffith to a foot race from home to 1st. It ended in a tie... With the baseball rule... A tie goes to the runner... The Umpires were completely confused. On this date in 1964... The Beatles Can't buy me love hits #1 on the charts and stays there for 5 weeks. The Song simply states that Money can't buy me Love... People who married for money and even prostitutes across the world were completely confused by the message of the song. On this date in 1968... Martin Luther King Jr was shot and killed in Memphis Tennessee. Many Many Many people were confused by why such a thing could happen to a man that important to mankind.
  19. Hmm ... sounds like a post-game 'things to think about' start ...
  20. Geez ... I missed it all ... damn it for work ... but at least they will replay the game here later. At least I know it has a happy ending!
  21. Then they are not quite as bright as those who actually made it there on time by taking public transportation.
  22. Yeah, and I'm one of those who decided not to skip out on work this afternoon to go.
  23. /I don't think there's anything new in that
  24. Picking up? Hell ... I'm looking for a body guard!
