  1. But aren't they worried the bear will go rogue and eat the squirrel? I mean, that's my concern.
  2. Just a side note ... as this is an interesting side discussion on the Angels, it might warrant its own thread, and leave this one to managerial openings and hirings for all teams. It is certainly going to be interesting to see who ends up where for all teams. Do we have this many manager openings every season? It just seems like quite a lot this year.
  3. Right. Because your team’s mascot screaming ‘GET OFF MY LAWN’ at small children will go over well.
  4. I think the lack of a game today is a good thing. Winding down for a time post-WS when there are just no games, unless you follow the games to foreign countries.
  5. omg ... King Baby! There is no question on that one. That one is horrifying!
  6. I saw the topic heading and thought, "I'm applying!" Seriously. I'm due for an occupation shift. But I'm going to talk them into changing the mascot to TC SQUIRREL!!!
  7. That's how you judge the game? Did you actually watch games 1 and 2?
  8. Yep ... a lot of it is about 'the right time, the right place' when you reach the playoffs.
  9. If you watched the first two games of the Nats-Cards series, all I could say after was 'Wow.' That wasn't good baseball, it was great baseball, on both sides. It didn't matter one team lost (okay, well, it probably mattered to the Cards) but that was great baseball, by both teams, and I applauded both teams, and said ... no way the Twins would have competed with that, as I didn't see that level of play all year. It wasn't just pitching that we didn't have. We relied heavily on the home run, and that was okay to get us to the playoffs, but we just weren't able to shift to 'playoff caliber' for whatever reason ... was it the coaching? Maybe. Was it team construction? Maybe. Was it inexperience? Maybe. Was it just a slightly lower level of talent? Maybe. There could be lots of reasons, and there were a combination of things, but those first two games in that series, as I said, all I could say was 'Wow, the Twins would not have been able to compete with that.' It was great baseball, on all levels, getting the performances they needed at the right time to make for what it was.
  10. All the teams have been good on all levels except one team, imo. And it wasn't just about pitching. Of course there's that, no question ... that's been a no question for a while. But the rest of the team just didn't get it done either. I've been watching some of these games ... particularly the Nats and the Cards ... but all teams, really ... and all I could think was, 'Okay, wow ... we just didn't play at that caliber all around.'
  11. This all sounds like they really want to win! I've actually been pretty impressed with how all the teams have played, with one exception. And when I see how the teams have played I think to myself how the Twins were just not that good. And before anyone says 'It's the pitching, it's the pitching', well, yes, but that's just part of it. How the teams have played is the difference.
  12. And people think the series to watch is the Yankees and the Astros? Wow. And damn it! No hitter over. Why again did we not keep Sanchez?
  13. And this is what I’m hoping for.
  14. Yeah, that’s what I think it means, too. Unfortunately. I want it to mean more than just that.
  15. I remember both the ABC and NBC ones ... but I don't remember the CBS one. And I was definitely old enough to ... maybe I just didn't watch enough shows on CBS back then.
  16. The announcers of the game said something like that during the first inning. Noticed a group of them in the dugout huddled and talking and commented how they knew something. I don’t remember exactly how they said it but indicated they knew what was coming.
  17. There’s an article out on this now. You can discuss this here: http://twinsdaily.com/topic/35224-front-page-despite-research-that-shows-otherwise-mlb-insists-there-were-no-changes-to-postseason-baseballs/
  18. The Rays fires back with one ... so game is still within reach. It’s just nice to actually enjoy a baseball game without having a horse in the race. Baseball for baseball’s sake. Doesn’t get better than that. Okay, it would be better than that if the Twins had managed to beat the Yankees.
  19. 4-0 I’m enjoying these games far more than the Twins’ post-season games.
  20. 3-0 Stros, bottom 1st, no outs
  21. Neither did I, but it was what I was hoping for. And I still want the Nats to win the NLCS. But they aren’t there yet.
  22. Wowsa... so much shock this playoff.
  23. Right after that, the shot into the stands, you see streams of blue leaving.
  24. Well that’s something, I guess. And the Twins hit the most home runs in a single season than any team. I’m holding onto that. (Yeah, I'm being slightly sarcastic. )
