  1. The one thing we need to remember is if a new AAA team is created, it either has to be moved from another city, or another team has to leave AAA.
  2. Wouldn't Milwaukee have territorial rights to a AAA team in Madison?
  3. Somebody will lose their closer and get desperate.
  4. Steve Hirschfeld- RHP (9-8-85) Acquired: 9th round pick in 2007 from San Diego State 2011 team: New Britain Rock Cats 2011 Stats: 8-8, 3.73 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 128 IP, 43 BB, 90K After missing a lot of time in 2010, Hirschfeld got off to a great start in 2011. He was the sethspeaks.net selection as top Twins minor league pitcher in April and May. In four April starts, he went 1-0 with a 2.05 ERA and a 0.91 WHIP. In 22 innings, he gave up 15 hits and walked five while striking out 18. In five starts in May, he went 2-2 with a 2.93 ERA and a 0.95 WHIP. In 30.2 innings, he gave up 21 hits, walked eight and struck out 23. He was "just" honorable mention in June despite going 2-2 with a 3.00 ERA in five starts. He made six more starts in August before an innings limit pushed him to the bullpen in August. 2010 was a trying season for Hirschfeld. He pitched just 32 innings because of an arm injury. It was frustrating because 2009 was a terrific year for him in Ft. Myers. He went 7-7 but posted a 2.23 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP in 32 appearances, including 17 starts. He went to the Arizona Fall League at the end of that season. In 2008 he went 10-5 with a 3.30 ERA in Beloit. Drafted in the 29th round by the Expos in 2004 out of high school in Utah, Hirschfeld went to college. He was drafted out of junior college the next year by the Rockies in the 25th round but instead decided to the College of South Nevada and then San Diego State University. In 2007 he, went 5-4 with a 4.41 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP at SDSU before the Twins drafted him in the 9th round and sent him to Elizabethton. Hirschfeld is 6-5 and 220 pounds. He has very good control and does not give up many home runs. His fastball sits between 87 and 90, occasionally touching 91 mph. He is not a strikeout pitcher, so not allowing free passes is crucial. He has a good curveball and a sharp slider. The unfortunate thing about his lost 2010 season is that it is a year of lost development. One thing he needs to continue to work on his changeup. 8. I still think the best idea is to teach Revere 2B.
  9. I wouldn't include the Yankees at all. Nova is on the verge of losing his spot in the rotation when Pettitte or Pineda returns.
  10. Mauer hits .350. Waldrop gets healthy and ends the season at the RH setup man.
  11. If they had to, when Baker comes back, Hendriks could stay in the rotation with Marquis in the pen until he's ready to start..
  12. It's been getting removed as soon as they see it.
  13. Now if they'd change the hot dog vendor everything would be perfect.
  14. Plouffe and (gulp) Blackburn.
  15. Parmelee wins AL ROY. Perkins sets the MLB record for holds in a season. Capps gets 40+ saves. Valencia becomes a 20 HR, 100 RBI hitter. 4 players surpass 20 HR's (Morneau, Valencia, Willingham, Parmelee) Gardy loses the rest of his hair because he misses Ozzie.
  16. I don't have faith in anyone getting in first ballot anymore.
  17. Send him to Rochester to learn 2B.
  18. The fewer that are in the better my odds to win!
  19. August 29th-30th, 1987 vs the Brewers. Saturday goes 4 for 5 with two HR's, then Sunday 6 for 6 with 2 2B's and 2 HR's. He also robbed Robin Yount of a grand slam in one of the games. I've never seen a better two games put together.
  20. I'm glad to see all the love for Kauffman Stadium. I'm planning on going there in July and it sounds like it will be worth it. I've only Been to Miller Park, and it was pretty sweet.
  21. I go with The Natural.
  22. I could also see him waiting well into the seaon and coming back when a team needs a SP badly.
  23. I think this could end up being similar to when the Twins lost Eric Milton in spring training for the season and signed Kenny Rogers a few days later. Oswalt doesn't get a deal from the Rangers or Cards, then a major piece of someone's rotation goes down and they give him a one year, incentive filled deal.
