  1. To add to this his suspension was reduce via appeal from 80 games to 60, and there is a clause that if an appeal leads to a reduction a player is eligible for postseason. Had the appeal been earlier last season he would have been eligible last season. Adalberto Mondesi a few years back also qualified for that exception.
  2. CC Sabathia was out of shape for 20 years and was just fine until the last year or 2.
  3. Regarding the change to a 28 man roster, I found this from MLB Trade Rumors in March saying it is a 28 maximum, so you cannot go up to 40. Also mentions a possible maximum pitchers being half the roster, which would be 13 as I was thinking.
  4. Jon Heyman just tweeted that there will still be a 10 day DL for hitters. Not sure how they'll enforce either one when it comes to Ohtani or McKay though.
  5. Yes any player optioned will need to spend 15 days in the minors.
  6. I saw someone earlier in this thread asking about the game in the other ALDS that is scheduled for MLB Network and if that will get a free preview. Just want to let you know that it is part of this preview as well. I would quote them but can't seem to find the post.
  7. MLB.TV does not show postseason games within the US unless you have it through a pay TV provider. I have it as a standalone service and I got an error that you have to use a pay tv provider and since I didn't sign up with that, nor is Comcast one of there providers I can't watch it on MLB.TV.
  8. Thanks to John Bonnes Comcast has reversed their decision in the Twin Cities.
  9. It's a worse policy actually. mlb.tv does not offer postseason games in the U.S. unless you are using it through your local pay tv provider. And since Comcast is not one a lot of people are SOL.
  10. Chili Davis' 3.3 WAR in 1991 deserves a mention here. I would probably say Cruz slightly over Morris but Thome was fun.
  11. I get that and I see no reason he won't continue to improve. Reminds me of when Plouffe was struggling defensively at 3B. He kept working on getting better and eventually he was a better than average 3B.
  12. I'm just stunned that there are still people who don't think he's good enough to be an MLB SS. I see it on Twitter on a daily basis and, quite frankly, it needs to stop. Is he a gold glove SS? No. But he's average defensively at worst now. So far he's has 9 errors this year in 76 games when he had 13 in the 76 games he played last year. He's gone from 1 error every 5.8 games to 1 every 8.4 games. That's solid improvement. Yes between Mauer last year and Cron this year he gets help at 1B on poor throws but does everyone else that plays with them. Polanco should be the SS for years to come. It's good to see stability at the position.
  13. Yeah that's what I was looking at. Not sure why the Mets series is higher than anything else has been. I know they don't come here often but that's the dumpster fire of all time.
  14. When I looked they felt higher IMO. Seats I normally get for $50-$60 on VividSeats were $90. I'll be looking again when I need tickets though.
  15. Duffey was up in the pen behind Parker in the ninth yesterday so i think he has that trust right now.
  16. The rule for consecutive days played is a 20 day maximum.
  17. I may have missed it but I didn't see it mentioned that he developed an infection in the cut at some point as well. That probably had a lot to do with it not healing and the complications.
  18. I thought Marwin would get 3/$39M at the start of FA and am thrilled the Twins got him for less. This is a really smart move. It's nice to have 10-11 guys that probably should play everyday.
  19. I saw it was mentioned by Dan Hayes that Hefner would be handing bullpen duties but wouldn't necessarily start the game in the bullpen.
  20. Alomar was with Cleveland when Falvey was there so is enough there to get past that.
  21. Logan Morrison will be a huge bargain, in contention for AL MVP. Twins will run away with the division, 12+ games ahead of the Indians. 3 players hit 30+ HR's, Sano, Morrison, Dozier. Buxton leads the league in SB. Joe Mauer hits .350 and wins the AL batting title. Addison Reed ends the season as closer, including World Series Game 7.
  22. I'll just blame the concussion I had in December.
  23. Larkin's walkoff single Game 7 1991 needs a mention here. Yeah it was setup by an intentional walk to load the bases but he went up there hurt and got the job done.
