  1. Mauer is not going anywhere. They will keep Plouffe at 3B and Sano at the DH until they find a primary DH who can put up around .270, plus 25-30 bombs. They may do it next season or even the season after. Vargas or Arcia at one time were the obvious candidates. They won't move Plouffe until they have a solid weapon at DH.
  2. I suspect he'll get quite a bit more leash since he's 26-18 since joining our favorite team.
  3. I'm guessing Polanco, Kepler, and Berrios will remain in the minors until their teams are eliminated. I could see Vargas being called up as a spare bat. I'm curious to see if Arcia, Pinto, Meyer, and even Santana are called up at all. In somewhat similar situations both Hicks and Dozier were not called up.
  4. This is pretty much what Rob Anthony said a couple of Sundays ago. I would be shocked if May isn't already penciled in as the 4th or 5th starter next season. I give May a lot of credit. He took one for the team, and has been lights out as a power arm in the pen. Teammates and coaches don't forget that type stuff.
  5. I agree it's a long-term need. I would wait for the offseason when we can choose from a full menu.
  6. The season won't be won or lost at C, nor will it be at SS. It will be won or lost on the bump. Plenty of time to acquire a proven 8th inning guy.
  7. The Braves won't take a warm body. In a similar situation, they got a 2nd round pick for Diamond. I like Graham where he is, and feel he has a decent chance to make the team next season. We all want power arms in the pen, Pressly and Graham are at least a start.
  8. I think it has more to do with stop crapping the bed, than Pitch to Contact being in operational mode. 2014 AAA greatness was fool's gold.
  9. This team will go undefeated in the second half and win the World Series. That ties it up 1 to 1.
  10. This is very well thought out and farsighted. Kudos on taking the first shot.
  11. I agree, time to deal for bullpen help. Long term, the draft classes of 2012 and 2014, and our two Rule 5 pickups will fix it. But, to win now we need to deal.
  12. Why? He's made the HOF as a scout and it's just a matter of time until he does as a GM.
  13. I would guess we won't need them for at least a year. Now that they're healthy, I would watch the 2012 Draft Class. Also, I would be surprised if we don't acquire a veteran lefty at the deadline.
  14. I have no idea if he is good enough to help this season. Obviously percentages show it is remote. I do know the last thing a team learns how to do, is how to win. If push comes to shove, I would arm the women and children.
  15. We will have to agree to disagree. I disagree with the words stunt, screw, and bad.
  16. Brock, I think it's so important to make the playoffs this season, that I would arm the women and children, so to speak.
  17. My guess is they are showcasing Oliveros. Maybe we can get some space for international signings.
  18. You did a great job on the draft! I hope we hear a lot more from you.
  19. Could you provide specifics on that much larger problem, and how it is going to be exasperated going forward?
  20. Mike, who exactly is saying this? Do you really believe King Theo, Brad Pitt etc., don't make the final decisions?
  21. Our favorite team is attempting to salvage a once top prospect who has lost his luster. While doing so, they have remained in contention with admitted placeholders in CF. What's the down side?
