  1. Teams with depth have the least to worry about.
  2. Liked how you ranked the pitchers.
  3. Interesting. I learned many years ago from Andy MacPhail that pitching is a numbers game. Falvey has shown himself to be pretty adept at accumulating top pitching prospects. I'm guessing our scouts are on the same page as Wes Johnson. It appears few teams even try to take care of their starting pitching needs internally. Cleveland, Atlanta, San Diego and possibly the Dodgers come to mind.
  4. Agree. Let's not forget you can't use RBI's because that's about opportunity and not ability.
  5. Wait to sell high. He's the most obvious and least painful choice to use as a centerpiece. No he won't fetch a true ace. That would take Kirby.
  6. Tough decisions are ahead. It won't belong before they're more players I like than there is room for.
  7. Reinsdorf found his checkbook and America's Team will need to be dealt with in the future. Yankees first.
  8. Both Adrianza and May can be replaced internally for the minimum. Odorizzi is the wild card. If he duplicates last season, I would try to extend.
  9. Never is a long time. My guess is no later than 2023, possibly 2022, most of our starting pitching needs will be taken care of internally, just as we have relievers. It should be noted, most teams won't even try.
  10. Those who read the comments on MLBTR, noted as did I, Dodger fans speak very well of Maeda.
  11. Getting a major league ready position player who fills a current need, for a unheralded pitcher in rookie ball is a no-brainer.
  12. Depth is no problem. Compared to most teams, we have Major League ready starting pitching coming out of our ears.
  13. If you have 2 players of equal ability, take the younger one. That said, Chacin will be picked up, if not bid on. Too many teams desperate for starting pitchers.
  14. RB, the difference is being in a full rebuild vs. a win now mode. Hicks and Buxton were handled okay.
  15. I can't think of any prospect our favorite team wasted an opportunity to trade super high on.
  16. 5 years for 90M sounds doable. My thought was he would want a minimum of Wheeler money. 5 for 118M.
  17. Baseball is not the good ship Lollipop.
  18. We will have internal replacements for Berrios prior to 2022. No need to break the bank or pick up a Mauer contract in free agency. We can take care of our bullpen needs internally.
  19. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we have folks on the board who thought Buxton had a grievance when he wasn't brought up in September one season?
  20. All they have to do is force the issue and magically a spot will appear.
  21. I think we should go back to using wins and rbi's. The new arithmetic is fine for entertainment value, but it never tells you what you want to know.
  22. Don't confuse him with the facts.
  23. Chacin still has time. I would guess rival scouts are watching. There are a number of desperate teams out there. The Red Sox and Angels come to mind. If you follow MLBTR you'll see it changes almost daily.
