I usually can catch just the last few innings of Twins games due to work and the time difference (live in CA). Watching the whole game tonight because they are playing the A's in Oakland. Didn't appreciate how painful it is to watch this team come to the plate for the whole game...so many unproductive at bats, even against the A's pitching. Yikes. -

The White Sox are coming. 2020 might well be the last year the Twins are better than the White Sox. So the window to win is now. In a vacuum, I wouldn't trade Graterol for Maeda. But in the context of going for it in 2020, I like the trade.

Saw him pitch last night against WSU. Good news: he had 10 K's in 8 innings and got the win (score was 3-2). Bad news: he threw 121 pitches and WSU's two best hitters (Ard and Jones) had no problem crushing the ball (they combined for two doubles and a home run).

Nags are going hard after Peter Bourjos of the Angels, who has been displaced by Mike Trout. So it seems unlikely that Span will end up with the Nats. But you never know...

The Twins are currently in last place in the AL Central and appear to have little or no chance of competing for the division title this year (how about that for an understatement). In the Dregs Division, however, the Twins are only 2 games out of first place. Dregs Division (thru 28 games) [TABLE=width: 500] Team W L GB 1962 New York Mets 9 19 [/TD] [TD]2012 Minnesota Twins 7 21 2.0 [/TABLE] Tune in from time to time when the AL Central standings get you really depressed to see how the Twins' are doing in the Dregs Division. The good news is that the worst the Twins can finish in this division is second place. Go Twins!
