True that, young man. In the thousands itunes on my mac, there is hardly anything from beyond the very early 90s. That's when everything went digital, and disposable. Like who, 20 years from now, is going to play a Bieber tune at their anniversary dance? Who is going to remember any, or even who he was? (Cant' happen soon enough). -
Those lions on the game thread photo are the saddest lions I've ever seen. But if the herald a win, I can look at them all season. As long as they like chicken, and not me. Good job today, boys. Haven't perused the game thread, but I'm sure there was some fine snark to be found along the way.

I have to echo a lot of the comments here. The only really valuable chips we have are not on the ML club. And heck, if it boils down to a C-level prospect as opposed to just DFA'ing a guy (Nolasco, looking at you), take whatever the heck we can get. Again, the time to deal Plouffe or Rosario, for example, was when the snow was still on the ground. Sadly, their output just melted away when the weather warmed up.- 82 replies

NO!! Leave him be, let him get a couple hundred ABs in a place he can handle. Don't yo-yo him back up and put him in the pressure-cooker and watch him flail again. Let him concentrate on his pitch recognition and lowering his K rate where the stakes aren't as high. We already know his speed and D are sound, but give him time to focus on what's been keeping him out of the majors so far. He ain't gonna save this season. Superman, Batman, Spiderman, and Wonder Woman together couldn't save this season. (Nor could Aquaman, if only for the post-game gatorade baths). All that said, I want to look at a Twins lineup by mid-August though, and see Bux, Kep, Park, Sano, and maybe Vargas. I want to see Berrios, Duffey, Meyer, or Chargois on the hill. I want to not see Dozier, Plouffe, Zuke, Mastro, (or whatever other 5th OF they find from the bargain bin, sorry, Grossman), Nolasco, Hughes, or even Gibson, and I want to see Joe on the bench and PH'ing. (Unless he wakes up as the April Joe of earlier this year).

Well, as long as he's defiant on the bench, that's OK. Get the Eddies up the middle, and let him pinch hit for Suzuki when necessary. -

Sick of it. Just sick of it. So, in Burnett, we sign another over-30 guy who's been dumped by a couple of teams, but who maybe, just maybe will be able to help out. That's what you do when you need an extra arm to get you through the dog days of a pennant-race grind. That's not what you do when your season is already lost, and you've got a bunch of hot young arms to audition. Give 'em a taste, see what you've got, give the fans a glimpse of something to maybe hope for. If we're going to go out and get our brains beat in every damn day, how about we do it with players who may well be around in a year or two, not guys we're going to cut by August. I've suffered through a hell of a lot of lean years, for those few productive ones. '65, I was 5 years old, and that was my baseball intro. Late 60's-- awesome. 70s- mid80s-- one long suck-fest, especially 82, but hey, you could see good things coming. 87, 91, great, then the wilderness again. Then the Gardy years of one-round-of-playoffs, and bending over for the Yankees. Pfft. And now, this. Mr. Pohlad, and the rest of you--- you owe it to us long-suffering fans, to not be b-slapped like this again. If we're going to suck beyond belief, let's suck beyond belief with the future in the major league dugout.
