  1. Is that like the proverbial Participation Trophy?
  2. Hm. Drew B. .269 avg, .775 OPS. Just took him a little while to find his stroke, it seems. Like getting away from the Twinks coaches seems to work for others as well.... Uh-oh, and just as I type that.... Looks like the start of a Gibby Implosion Inning!
  3. Oh my, Whit Merrifield is at the bat. Sorry, just a sec, have to rip the crusts off my cucumber sandwich here....
  4. I'm wondering how soon after the season the press conference will be scheduled. Topic: Moving on. Sorry, loved Molly as a player, since his Gopher days, but managing a young and rebuilding team is not his forte. Roving minor league instructor, great. But this job, IMHO, was a bridge too far. ABW is on the 40 man, no move necessary. AAA team MVP, and hot finish to the season down there. Schafer is pushing 30, Grossman's had a season-long audition already. What is the point of giving these guys ABs now? This season was in the dumpster long ago, and we still get dudes like this trotted out, at the expense of giving young guys a taste of the show, and see how they handle it. Pfft.
  5. Sheesh. Whit Merrifield. Alex Gordon. Cheslor Cuthbert. Beaten soundly by the Delta's again, eh, what?
  6. He has more than earned it. He would have been a good-sense callup plenty of times in the past, yet has been overlooked way more than he should have been. I've been in this guy's corner for a long time, and I'm glad to see him finally getting his long-overdue shot. He reminds me of a lot of those guys who came out of the Cardinals org, with a ton and a half of minor league games under his belt, ready to contribute on the big stage. He's been solid on both O and D for a long time. I hope Molly can get him into the lineup, instead of doing what he's usually done with the young guys the last couple of years. 2017- Dozier to 3rd, Polanco SS, Beresford 2B. Now we're getting somewhere. Add about 5 more quality SP's and we're talking contention... nyuk, nyuk.
  7. Dozier to 3B if we keep him. Sano DH'ing, with an occasional spell at 3rd. A big thanks to Trevor and DanSan for their work, and fare thee well.
  8. I was disappointed not to see Mr. Granite (could he have a better name, unless he gets a nickname like "Rocky?") on the AFL roster. He is without a doubt my favorite Twinks minor leaguer. And what a season he's had. Watch out, Buck-- may be another CF candidate soon.
  9. Well, if there's a way to break this streak, I couldn't imagine a better opponent to do it against. PS-- then we can resume our chase for that #1 pick.
  10. Solution: (First year in China, pissing monsoon outside. Excuse the cap- only used for rainy days and oil changes)
  11. From the album: Moto

  12. Re: Kuechel In the year 2020 (hopefully sooner),
  13. How old was Crash Davis when he was with the Bulls? He had some pop, at least.
  14. Perfect spot for Jepsen here. Oh, wait...
  15. Hey, Glunn, you are an LA guy? I think a pint would be in order when I'm out there!
  16. Whoop! There it it! Chicke-e-e-e-e-e-n Dinna-a-a-a-a-a-a-ah!
  17. Hi gang! Haven't been around much lately, with school winding up, and getting ready for a trip back to US- LA, actually, so I don't know if that counts. But-- depending on how things go there, may zip up to the TC for a quick trip after ASG, since I've never seen Target Field as yet. Oh, how I hope it all works out. If it does, I'll put a shout out, and hopefully see some of you cats around there--- And what the heck is Molly doing leaving Neil Arm-less in for so long? Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.............. Let's not blow this one, boys!
  18. Worse than COMMUNISM!!! (to quote Bill Murray)
  19. That's true, BB. An exceedingly small sample, to be sure. But I'm not interested in back-pats. I'm more interested in kicking TR and Molly in the butt. Arcia isn't and wasn't the be-all and end-all of the Twinks problems, but his situation is emblematic of the dysfunction rampant throughout the organization- that's probably why this thread has generated 10 pages and counting. It's just another glaring example of a guy who didn't fit a certain mold, and therefore wasn't used correctly to maximize what he was capable of. I.e.- this season: Don't play the guy for long stretches at a time, don't even PH him in potentially ideal spots, then give him a rare start --against a lefty, and expect, what, overnight success? Again, one small example, but fitting an overall theme, and not a good one.
  20. Hi gang! Just checking in-- let's see.... Last night: O. Arcia, TB-- 3-4, HR, 3RBI Tonight so far: O. Arcia, TB-- 2-4, DBL, 2R Lookin' good outta the box! Thanks, TR! Thanks, Molly!
  21. I just hate this. If they were going to trade him, it should have happened long ago. They just sat on the guy, didn't play him, and let a roster spot fester and die. There just seems to be no plan at all in this organization, and a field manager who doesn't know what the hell to do with young players, and has no clue that fans have already given up on this horrid season, and want to get moving toward the future. That does not mean picking up scrap heaps on the waiver wire, by the way, TR. Get rid of Molly, get rid of TR, I don't care in which order, and get moving with a fresh, outside angle in the FO and on the field.
  22. Wait, I want to take back my like. I snickered out loud at your post, but now that bloody song is in my head for the rest of the day-- Challenge to all TD posters- What music do you use to erase stupid songs that get stuck in your brains?
  23. No. As I am nearly always not entertained against dem yanks. Sick of bending over for them, year after year, like we're in awe or something. I'm telling ya, if I'm managing or starting tomorrow, lead off hitter wears the first pitch of the game on his arse.
