  1. I know that some scouts compare Walker's swing to that of Giancarlo Stanton.
  2. I think the Twins could probably have won the game last night if they had been there, which is kinda surprising.
  3. I want the Astros to win. I wouldn't be surprised to see Tanaka turn on his ace stuff and dominate in the playoffs this year, but he has battled injury, so we haven't seen that for awhile.
  4. I don't think that Heyward is a big time bat.
  5. I have a hard time believing Mark DeRosa wasn't a Twin.
  6. I hate how wins and loses play such a factor. Corey Kluber deserves much more consideration in the AL.
  7. Clayton Kershaw joined the 300 strike out club!
  8. One of the best. I loved watching him pitch because he did it right.
  9. Things to Think About: #1 - Last Year - Last year at this time we had a very uncertain future, Gardy had just been fired, and there was speculation that Ozzie Guillen might be our next manager, but we ended up with a much better manager, and also an almost completely new coaching staff, Ervin Santana, and Torii Hunter, which made us quite a different team, but the best free agent signing was Tim Stauffer, who gets to go to the playoffs with the Mets. #2 - This Year - We had a season that was better than many expected, with dance parties, an above .500 record, and arguments about how we should get into the postseason this year, which was something that hadn't been realistically talked about in a long time, but we didn't get there, which is very sad, because I'm not going to be satisfied until we win the World Series, which I believe will come very soon. #3 - Next Year - Next year we will be better, we will be the team that everybody is talking about, we will not just be the Cinderella Twins, we will be the Minnesota Twins, AL Central Champions. We will be Minnesota Twins, American League Champions. We will be Minnesota Twins, World Champions. Byron Buxton and Miguel Sano will be the two favorites for MVP, and there will be heated debates about sabermetrics versus traditional stats, and building through the draft and free agency. The Mods will also issue warning points. #4 - Playoff Predictions - The Cubs will win the NL Wild Card Game, than they will beat the Cardinals in the NLDS, while the Mets beat the Dodgers, than the Mets will get revenge on the Cubs for a season sweep against them with a 4-0 sweep of the NLCS. The Astros will beat the Yankees in the AL Wild Card Game, and then beat the Royals in the ALDS, with the Rangers winning the ALDS against the Blue Jays, so we will have a Texas ALCS, with it going to seven games, and the Astros will win. We will have a Mets versus Astros World Series, with the Mets winning. I want the Cubs to win, but this is my false prediction. #5 - Riverbrian Award - Tomorrow BBWAA writers will vote for the major awards, and today we will vote for the Riverbrian award. Sadly Riverbrian is ineligible, because he is Riverbrian, and also because it would be unfair. The nominees are sampleSizeOfOne, always33, Hrbowski, BK432, and Hosken Bombo Disco. Yesterday Bark's Lounge and USAFChief tied in the voting for GT thread participation. 10. You are actually quite wrong there, he isn't saying that at all, he is saying that since they are working in America they should be respectful to the Americans, not trying to piss them off. If the players don't realize that they are pissing other players off they are extremely stupid, this is a North American league, and if American players were doing their thing down in the Dominican, they would be just as wrong. Personally, I think a cool headed player, who is not a self centered, arrogant jock is the most entertaining to watch.
  11. If we can get out of this we will have some good momentum.
  12. Manfred has ordered the umps to keep us out.
  13. Give me names and I will add them.
  14. It won't stop massacres. Like I already said people will just use bombs, so what we really need to be doing is helping people with mental disorders, because banning high capacity magazines will not change the way these people think. By the way, the far right won't get smashed during the next decade, they are the ones with the young, intelligent leaders, so I think it highly unlikely that they do. The problem with liberals is that they are acting like the GOP doesn't care about this issue, or any issue, but they do, they just have other ideas.
  15. Mets easily win that trade.
  16. Once upon a time in Twins Territory there were three men who were known as Jeff, Dick, and The Holy, Holy Vicar, but if it was their names that were the reason that they became famous they would have been a boring trio, which was not the case, so let's get started with the story. Jeff was known as a respectable working man with long hair, a large beard, and a pine tree in his front yard that was rotting out at the base. His neighbors didn't exactly like him, due to his loud music and fireworks that he shot off at their houses, but all people have their annoying habits, and that is what makes us so interesting. Jeff didn't always get along with Dick and The Holy, Holy Vicar, but I can say that he wasn't too much of a hot head; although that may be attributed to the fact that he smoked vast quantities of marijuana, which made him crave a delicious, delicious pepperoni pizza. Jeff also taught Sunday School at a megachurch, played the Saxophone, and kept a garden, but we will get to that later. I guess that we can agree that Jeff was an average citizen, and even though he wasn't a good role model for the neighbor boys he was not so awful that they were banned from talking to him. Dick was retired, kinda fat, loud, and just about everything else that men like him are, with a white beard, and a wife. Dick happens to be the most minor character in the story, with his shed actually playing a larger role than he does. Dick was a hunter and fisherman who had taxidermies littering his house, but was better known for making appearances with nothing but his skimpies on in his backyard, and for growing lilacs. Dick was actually a pretty boring guy compared to Jeff, and really boring compared to The Holy, Holy Vicar. The Holy, Holy Vicar was an interesting character who drove a red PT Cruiser, was exceedingly fat, and watched Jaws backwards at high speed, which is why he was able to entice little boys to come over to his house. There once was a very, very holy Vicar Who was walking along the street one day When he heard a little voice saying excuse me Vicar Oh help me Vicar the voice did say The Vicar looked about but all he could see Was a tiny little frog sitting on the ground Oh my dear little froggie did you speak to me Was it you who spoke when I heard that sound Oh yes said the frog oh help me Vicar Cause I am not a frog you see I'm a choirboy really but a very wicked fairy Put a nasty spell on me The only way that I can be saved From this wicked spell the little frog said Is for someone to take me and put in a place Where a very holy man has laid his head So the Vicar took him and put him on his pillow And there he lay till the break of day The very next morning a blessed miracle The spell was lifted I'm glad to say For there was a choirboy in bed with the Vicar And I hope you think this all makes sense Because my Lord and members of the Jury Rests the case for the defense That wasn't the worst thing that the Vicar did; he also threw shoes, especially when he was mad and running around the neighbor's fire pit, chasing his dogs, working up a sweat, and listening to loud laughter. One day his dogs broke loose again, tore down the street, and were never seen again. Jeff has become an efficient squirrel and raccoon hunter, but still can't hit the crows, and want's to outlaw oil, Catholics, and the City Council. Dick moved away and took half his lilacs with him. The Holy, Holy Vicar annually performed the last rites for the Twins seasons, but will be unable to this year, due to the fact he went into Dick's shed, and has never come out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0wMgwW5Oko I'm not sorry if I offended anyone, for it is a 100% true story. 17. You want facts? https://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2011/crime-in-the-u.s.-2011/tables/expanded-homicide-data-table-11 Now look at how many were killed by rifles, whether these were simple muzzle loaders, or semi-automatic, they were nothing compared to handguns, but it really doesn't matter what kind of gun was used, it only takes one bullet. It doesn't matter what capacity the magazine has, it won't affect how many people die, which is what really matters.
  18. Well, liberals are constantly saying we should ban semi-automatic rifles, which is literally the same as banning certain books, religious sects, or words, so this eventually will bring about the criminalization of firearms all together. I would agree with you that no rational person would say we shouldn't have legal access to firearms, but people are.
  19. He certainly should be in the conversation.
  20. You think he is a bad manager? Why? What has he done wrong? Moved us back into contention, great with young players, and is smarter than most managers in the game. We will be a force to be reckoned with for years because of his managing and Terry's development of the farm.
